Louie,

I returned from Haiti on Sunday 2/14/2009. I spent 2 weeks serving as a Nurse with Samaritan's Purse. I worked at the Hopital De Fermathe ( The Baptist Haiti Mission Hospital) There are no words that can fully describe the destruction to the infrastructure of this country. Before leaving Haiti, I was so blessed to witness the "Revival" that is taking place. The President of Haiti, Rene Preval cancelled traditional Marti Gras celebrations for 3 days of Prayer and Fasting.
God is making himself known in the hearts of the Haitian people! Our team experienced many moments that can only be explained by our magnificent God! He gave us tools and people at just the right time to help treat so many people. I personally want to thank your 20,000 plus college students at Passion 2010. It was through their generosity of giving to the Do Something Now project that motivated me to come home from the conference and "Do Something Now"! This is truly how I ended up serving the People of Haiti. I am a blessed "door holder" from your Passion 2010 conference. If you ever have a group going over to Haiti--I would love to go back--the people are wonderful!!

Besides donating my own money to Haiti, I will continue to pray for them. Lifting everything up to Heaven for them.

I know this has nothing to do with Haiti and I apologize, but I had a question in regards to Passion 2010.

what were some of the technology used at the conference, mainly screens, cameras and audio?

I continue to be in awe of OUR GOD. The tragedy and images stream across the screen of television and my heart just breaks for what is happening now, but I am constantly reminded of the phrases, Our God is Greater and the words Haiti is in His hands. At Passion 2010, I cried when I heard the results of the Do Something Now, because it just blew me away. But I can not help but think in these last few days, at the conference, we were praying for Haiti and I was thinking of all the new small business loans that were going to happen as a result of going over the goal, but the reality hit, and I was reminded that God knew this would happen, and knew there was going to be a need bigger then we understood at that point. The loans would not just be for new project but to help rebuild some that previously existed. I am so grateful that God always sees the bigger picture, and knows our needs. Thanks for the postings about ways people can be involved, because the reality is that there are so many that want to help, but just need help being connected with a way. Will be praying for all the team and organizations on here.

The heartbeat of God carried by you @ Passion 2010 is not lost on our 16 students who invested their lives in those days.

They are mobilizing here in response to the suffering of the least of these, leveraging their resources (what they have, not what they don't have) in response. I'm carrying the message you gave us of Heb 13:15-16 before them and my friends: Worship + Justice = WORSHIP!

We have a ministry in Lake Charles that provides relief and medical help via ship, Friendships.org, and they will be in Haiti in a couple days. The students here are serving there, gathering and packing the supplies for that ship, and bringing their friends to help (including some who don't know the Life that comes in Jesus...yet).

Go Jesus! paul

Thanks for your efforts to mobilize support for Haiti! Another small mission agency, Mission Possible, has a medical team departing tomorrow (Sat. Jan. 16) for Haiti. Please pray for them. This agency runs 7 schools in Haiti and 1 in the Dominican Republic. Here's a link for more info, or to donate:
