16 Day Prayer Journey To Passion 2010 – Day 14
It’s OK to come to God just like you are. While it won’t be His plan to leave you that way for long, God is in touch with our true condition. He sees our hearts as plain as day and knows our motives as well as our words.
He understands our humanity. Our struggle. Our dark hearts. Our failing. Jesus didn’t make the journey from heaven to the manger for people who needed a tiny bit of assistance. He came for the sick (the really sick), the crushed, the lost and the criminal among us. He came for the worst. And He came to raise the dead and touch those who were decaying from the inside out.
So as we come to Passion 2010, let’s come honestly. Let’s lay down the need to impress other people, for that route leaves us looking good in their eyes but missing the healing power of His. Let’s come to the throne of grace through Jesus Christ and seek mercy and grace in our time of need. Let’s be real and transparent. Let’s stop faking it, and fall into the arms of the One who sees night and noonday the same. Let’s not try to hide from the One who can put us back together again. And let’s ask Him to shine His light into our reality, however dark, and bring life again.
So together we pray…
Father, You see me as I am, yet You are still here. Still loving. Still waiting for me to step from the shadows and run into Your arms again. Meet me at the depths of me and do what only You can. In Jesus’ name. Amen.
The LORD is compassionate and gracious, slow to anger, abounding in love. He will not always accuse, nor will he harbor his anger forever; he does not treat us as our sins deserve or repay us according to our iniquities. For as high as the heavens are above the earth, so great is his love for those who fear him; as far as the east is from the west, so far has he removed our transgressions from us. As a father has compassion on his children, so the LORD has compassion on those who fear him; for he knows how we are formed, he remembers that we are dust. Psalm 103:8-14

Remember all of us who so desperately need You Lord. May we come to this event with an appetite for You alone, not for what we think the event can do. May we walk away closer to You, more intimate with You, and more steadfast in YOU. Your Name Father, not ours, is the one we want to lift high….

Thank you so much for this prayer… it put into simple words what I needed to and couldn’t. He is amazing.

Amen!
I wrote the following poem a few years ago which is along the same lines of this topic:
‘Mirror’
You see me
for who I am
inside out
back to front
I cannot fool You.
In your Word
I see my heart reflection
shimmer back to me;
revealing my inner flaws,
my weaknesses, my pain
Yet at the same time
I see
glimmers of Light, hope,
mercy and peace
transcend my wildest
dreams & expectations.
Mirror, mirror,
I have a new reflection
I am a new creation
God, I belong to You.
Come what may,
in the highs and lows
I know
You’re never far away.
