2010 Live Launch Unites World!

Passion Twenty Ten

Well, last week we asked the question, “How many people can we gather around computers for our 2010 webcast in 5 days?”  The answer: a lot!

Last night we hosted the Passion Twenty Ten Live Launch from the Passion House [a packed PH I might add, as we had students from Clemson, Auburn, Georgia Tech, Georgia State, Kennesaw State, Georgia and Alabama], a night of worship and prayer that united students from around the globe.  Amazing!

We are still getting final results, but we know students were with us in Canada, Brazil, Uruguay, Australia, New Zealand, Mexico, Malaysia, China, Puerto Rico, England, Scotland, Northern Ireland, South Africa, Mauritius, The Philippines, The Netherlands, France, Japan, Korea, Turkey, Norway, Switzerland, Italy, Singapore, Indonesia, Colombia, Germany, and Ukraine….as well as states all across the USA!

Big groups were watching at Union University in TN, Florida Southern, North Florida, Grand Valley State, University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point, New York University, University of Western Sydney and University of British Columbia, as well as people coast to coast from schools like The University of Southern California, University of Montana, Boston College, MIT, Northeastern, Hofstra (NY), Arizona State University, University of Delaware, [The] Ohio State University and hundreds of others.  All in all over 1700 groups dialed in that we now about, all united as we prayed the same prayers and sang the same songs…one common faith in Jesus Christ to light our lives and the world around us.

Oh, and in the middle of it all we opened registration for Passion Twenty Ten, January 2-5, 2010, here in Atlanta, with a special $99 rate for the first 1000 people.  Well, that lasted all of seven minutes and eight seconds!  Pretty crazy!  As of now, less than 24 hours later, over 1800 people have staked their place in Atlanta for this gathering of the students of the world.  Once again, wow.

Just a few of the comments we’ve received:

One of my roomies and I are watching this. We are both in leadership in our collegiate church plant here in Boston.  I first heard the Lord calling me to missions @ Passion in Fort Worth 1999.  I told my mom I was going to be a missionary… she said no way & I had to graduate. I was at Texas A&M University. The Lord continued to encourage me through Passion & One Day @ Shelby Farms throughout college. Long story… the Lord has called me to missions but has continued to keep me in the states. Passion 05 in Nashville, the Lord began to call many of our hearts to move to Boston.   Our communities have grown and multiplied….praise God.  Please pray for truth in Boston & New England, for revival in the hearts of all here. That they come to know Him, to truly know Him – the CREATOR, the FORGIVER, the REDEEMER, the LOVER, the FATHER, the HEALER & the RESTORER of all.  Please continue to pray for men & women of God to plant their lives here, especially men, we have way more women. I know we all get discouraged, but as you prayed earlier…Louie my roomie and I were sitting here with our hands in the air… for even encouragement for our own hearts.

…really feeling the power of God and His presence is in this room while watching the video cast!  from Seattle

WOW!!! While I was actually sitting alone at my school, it didn’t take long before I felt like I was in the Passion House worshiping and praying with you…and with everyone around the world!  from North Georgia

We’re sitting outside at the top of the Blue Mountains in Sydney, getting wireless from the campsite we’re at…worshiping Jesus and praying for the nations.  We’re here at our university campus Christian group’s planning conference to launch this year of service.  from outside Sydney, Australia

Such a cool night.  Such a growing wave for His renown!

Thanks for joining us.  We are for you all.  Go for it!

Louie

I was there (via net)!… awesome…… Also, registered for Passion 2010 and really looking forward to it! Something interesting happened during the registration process though… I managed to get into the first 1000 and had the $99 price at the side of the form… then… I clicked “Submit” at the end of the process, and it took me back to the start of the process because I missed filling in one field… and the 99 was gone; the 129 had appeared. So close…. but it’s alright! Passion 2010 will be well worth it I’m sure!

it was amazing watching it from my dorm…

I am near Passion House but was unable to attend there, but it’s all about God and His timing. Thank you so much for that. Even though I only saw a glimpse of the end it just really brought together everything from this whole weekend. I went to Passion City Church and then to experience that; when in January I will be standing amongst other people who are around the same age as me come together for God. I look forward to the day…

    brings back memories of 07!

I love this e-mail account of the LIVE LAUNCH:

My sister and I were participating in the livelaunch from our respective homes, by ourselves, and we were talking online.. At the very end my sister said we should be prayer partners, since we were alone, and I wasn’t sure if I should talk or type, but then we both started typing, and I thought I would share our prayer together:
lindsayrae: will you be my rpaeyer partner?
i will pray for villanova and osu

    me: yes. right on!
    amen
    9:59 PM

lindsayrae: you pray for columbus and philly

    me: okay

    lindsayrae: i mean silently i won’t type
    okay i will
GOd you are huge, bring a wave of awakening
to our schools that YOUR NAME would be famous

me: I pray that the people of columbus and philly would have their hearts softened

    10:00 PM
lindsayrae: there are a lot of people who have heard a lot of things about christians and jesus

me: that they would recognize your majesty

lindsayrae: but we pray that they would meet christians
    that we would be christians

me: that you would send your holy spirit to awaken and enliven their hearts

lindsayrae: and that they would meet JESUS

me: I pray that the people of these cities would be lights for you

lindsayrae: that our radical love for our Lord and our gratitude for His life, teachings, love, obedience, dignity, and death would realign everything about our lives

    10:01 PM
me: that the citizens here would recognize that there is something greater than our collective personal histories

lindsayrae: and that would be obvious to the people we meet on our campuses

me: that you are larger than that

lindsayrae: and the love that we have would spread around the world to the lost and the poor
    the poorest of the poor
and you would be there God

me: Lord Jesus you are bigger

    lindsayrae: AMEN AMEN AMEN
    you are the LIGHT
    you are the LIFE
    10:02 PM
    the abundant Life

    me: right on, mmhmm

lindsayrae: fill us with your life
    that we could share it
    amen!
    amen! in Jesus name AMEN!

me: Help us to bring this about Lord
    amen!

I think we should send this to Louie

lindsayrae: i knew you would say that

me: I think louie likes it!
    10:03 PM

    lindsayrae: i agree :)

  14. Kelli Says:

I LOVE LOVE LOVE that email those sisters send you, Louie! There really is something about being away from your sibling that draws you closer. The live launch was a great idea (Except for the buffering, which I had some of ;)) Whoever came up with that idea was fairly smart.. ;)

  15. Kristin Says:

Is there any way I could find out who those girls from Boston are? I also go to Texas A&M University and I have the same heart for Boston, just wondering if there is any way connections can be made!

    Live Launch = Wicked Sweet

  16. Tessa Says:

Hi, I’m a Christian and my mom just got a tape about the Universe and the stars and all that cool stuff. Well, I believed God was BIG, but I had no idea…he could be THAT BIG! lol
Thanks so much for your dedication to God and these series and devotion to young people. WE always need the encouragement to go after God…always.

    I can’t wait for more DVD’S!

  18. Jacoline Says:

Amazing night!!! I was sitting up at 3am here in Holland singing worship songs, it was amazing!! And I got a 99 dollar deal;-) How great is that!!!

  19. susan Says:

just a note that is completely unrelated to the coolness of the webcast. this is more of a technical issue for whomever deals with this: i can’t get the RSS feed to work on this blog anymore. it used to, but now it always says “live bookmark failed to load.” just a heads up :)

  20. Stacey Says:

I’m one of the Boston girls. It would be a complete joy to talk with anyone interested. dancingatHisfeet@gmail.com

Pray about moving & planting your life here. There are so many universities, so many college students from all over the world… that most likely will go back to their countries after grad/under grad….. hopefully with the knowledge, faith & saving power of Jesus Christ. This is a land once rich with passion for Christ… that has died in a winter of all winters… pray for new life, regeneration & a fire filled with truth & love to ignite this place once again.

    Hey.

This is on the offchance that any of the other Aussies who are going to be at Passion2010 are reading:

Particularly if you’re a Sydneysider, it’d be great to know which churches you’re at, and to arrange some sort of a meetup for prayer before/during/after Passion.

If you could contact me at steph.judd@hotmail.com, that’d be fantastic.
    :)
    Cheers.

  22. Jamie Says:

Awesome! Thank you so much Louie for doing the live launch! I felt like I right there at the Passion House with you guys! All of the memories from Passion 07 and from the Dallas regional last year came flooding back! I could feel God in a MIGHTY way (even if I was still finishing some homework :)

I can’t wait for Passion 2010! You guys should do another webcast liake a month or two before Passion. I can’t wait!

  23. Judi Says:

Wow! I really feel like I’ve missed out! I’ll have to keep an eye out for the next webcast or the download if it becomes available. Passion Sydney was amazing a never to be forgotten experience, as the oldest there I so wanted to be young again. I’m rapt in what you do and the way in which our Lord uses you Blessings and a huge thank you!

  24. Patt Says:

Hello Pastor Louie! i was just so blessed with your life as you shared your story back when you were in college. i never thought that what the world sees as failure is victory in the eyes of God. Amazing! i can see similarity of my situation with yours, and your story encouraged me so great… when i was in high school and newly saved by His grace, i was so eager about all the Christian stuff – church work, sharing the Gospel..the change was just so radical..and it felt like all i wanna do is just to spend time with Him through prayer and reading His Word. it felt like no other thing is important for me but my relationship with Christ. my parents were so disappointed as they witnessed how my academics somehow get “compromised”. and that particular moment was, i believe, the very reason why until now, they do restrict me when it comes to my committment to our Church. i can sense that they think of it as something that’s taking much of my time that’s “just supposed to be spent in my studies alone” – an additional work, an obstacle. it saddens me so much. they also had this thinking that i was just doing this for our Church. that i just wanted to be “in”. but His heart knows, we’re not doing this for the praises of men. we do this for Christ, for His love. and service is i believe, an overflow of the Love that He has just poured out graciously into us. and it’s a passion, that He himself birthed in our hearts. and stopping/restricting this passion is like putting your heart in chains. you know what Pastor, years passed and now i am in college. the Lord has taught me how to love my studies so much, and how to honor my parents in this way. He has taught me not to reject this blessing of getting education. but of course, from the depth of my heart cries out a desire for more of Him, for serving Him. i am waiting for that time, when He will reveal to me that very passion of my heart..the very thing or the very service He wanted me to do..thank you Pastor for your life, for your inspiration. Praise Jesus for His child like you whose passion is His name. His unending Love and Grace be with you. =)
