Passion Seoul!
Friday is ending in Seoul, but not without a rowdy night in the Olympic Gymnasium as thousands of Koreans kicked off Passion Seoul with a blast. For me, the highlight of the night was the connection between students, that global thing that’s happening as you guys grab onto the idea of praying and giving for each other. It’s that thread that makes these nights more than just concerts on a tour, but rather a united wave of passionate followers of Jesus who really do feel connected all around the world.
As tonight opened and we did our little geographical recap of the tour to date, you could sense that the cities were taking on a new friend as Seoul joined the ranks of those of you who have gone before. And when I started telling them about the love Vancouver showed them (giving over $40,000 US–which is over 56,000,000 [yes, that's million] in Korean currency!) and about the promise of your prayers, they were stunned. But when I unrolled the “God Bless Seoul” banner you guys sent with us tears filled the eyes of more than one of the people who were standing near the front of the stage. In fact, there were three girls standing a few rows back that were visibly shaken by the thought of it, and as that sign unfurled tears started streaming down one of their faces – a powerful moment I will never forget.
When we prayed at the beginning of the night, again tears everywhere…not only as we welcomed the Christ we have come here to amplify, but as we prayed for you guys back in Vancouver, returning the prayers that you are sending our way right now. Speaking of which, students at Trinity Western are meeting on campus Friday night and praying for us as we begin our 10 AM session here tomorrow. That, my friends, is very cool.
Speaking of very cool, four of our friends from Kampala have come to Seoul to be a part of this weekend. So the world is uniting, shrinking into one voice as many cultures and languages form a loud anthem of His renown.
It’s already a beautiful weekend here and things have only just begun. I’ll be back tomorrow with more from Seoul! LG

Yes! PRAISE GOD! You all have been at the forefront of our prayers and thoughts here in Kentucky (my Mom was up all last night praying for Seoul), and to see what GOD has done and is doing is absolutely AWESOME! JESUS IS ALIVE- and that makes all the difference!! We LOVE you all in South Korea, and will continue to hold you in prayer continuously today and tonight ( or tonight and today for ya’ll :).

Yes, Lord! Awesome photos! Thank you for the update! My children and I were so excited to see the picture of Olympic Gymnasium #1 – we were just there 2-1/2 weeks ago praying for Passion! It’s Mike from Vancouver, Canada. I was the one who created the “God Bless You Seoul” banner and all I can say is that I am blown away! I am gonna use your word, WOW! I am emotionally and spiritually moved to hear what happened in Seoul tonight, and the response with the banner.
It was a dream come true to meet you, and to have the opportunity to give you the banner in person. I will try and send that picture of us to your email sometime soon!
You and the team are in my prayers as you roll into the second day of Passion Seoul. Vancouver is with you all the way! Louie, ever since Monday, it has been amazing to see and hear how much Passion has impacted our generation here! The blog and just talking with friends, it is evident that Monday night has stirred something special in our generation and God is working so much! AMEN!

God is so worthy of praise!
i am grateful to the Lord for bringing Passion to Seoul. I have never had the opportunity to experience Passion before, and now i am in Seoul planting a church and tonight was amazing! i came to Passion Seoul with some other young adults from my Korean host church. they were concerned about the worship style and language, but were extremely moved. i have been praying for God to move in power in their lives and tonight was a turning point…He is so faithful.
for me personally, i cannot express how gloriously refreshing it was for me to be able to worship freely and in my own language for the first time in 5 months.
thank you Passion Team for following the vision the Lord has put in your hearts. may HE continue to use you for His glory and draw you closer to His heart.

WOW … that is awesome! Thank you for continuing to share about each World Tour city. I’ve been praying for you guys so much and asking that God would spark something in these students to live for His Fame.
Just reading about the “God Bless You Seoul” banner brought tears to my eyes too … there is something special and supernatural that happens when you know that God believes in you. So exciting to hear what happened the first night!! Can’t wait to hear what God will do in the second night.
Praying for a generation to be awakened to His Fame! He is so worthy of our lives.

Hi Louie: I hope you are doing well. I e-mailed this to Passion, but thought I would drop a note here as well.
I just wanted to thank you and the Passion crew for your faithfulness to the Lord and for this ministry that you are involved in.
The past 3 years in our home we hosted a South Korean named Robin. We grew to love him as a son, and shared Jesus with him. We listen to a lot of Passion artists and your talks in our home, and Robin listened intently along with us. Robin especially loves David Crowder (it is hilarious to hear him sing along with “You Are My Joy”) and he was especially moved by the “How Great is Our God” talk. He did not make a commitment to Jesus while staying with us, but we continue to pray for him (and ask that you might do the same)! Robin desired to go to college in the states, but his family was not able to manage this financially. He went back to Seoul after graduating high school in May.
When we found out that Passion was visiting Seoul we were overjoyed. We made sure Robin knew this, and he was excited to have the opportunity to see Passion in his homeland, and hear worship in his heart language. I received a Facebook message from him last week that he bought a ticket and was excited about attending the event. I can’t wait to hear from him how much he enjoyed it. And my heart hopes that through this event he may be ready to make a decision for Christ as he experiences first hand the awesome power of worship and sharing the fame of Christ.
My wife and I support your ministry with prayer and financially, and we plan on continuing. I just thought it might be cool for you to hear how the message of Christ through Passion is bridging families across the globe. Thank you again for your faithfulness to Him. May God Bless you richly as you seek His face!

Praise the Lord, glad you guys made it to Seoul safe and sound.
To me, our Korean brothers and sisters are like the famous Christians from Rome that Paul was talking to in Romans in that their faith was pretty much setting a great example for us all. All I can think about is those brave Korean missionaries who were held hostage by some Muslim Terrorists not too long ago. As I was praying this week, I started thinking about that type of faith and courage that can be ignited in all our brothers and sisters in Seoul. I can only imagine the great things that Passion can ignite in these people and type of things that they can change in South Korea and maybe even North Korea!

God Bless Seoul! The conference in Vancouver on Monday night was still really fresh in my memory and everyone from my group that went feels that it is life changing, thanks very much!! Tonight we get to go back to our own church’s youth group and we get a chance to share what we have experienced to those who didn’t go on Monday. I think even just our sharing of our experience there gave them an encouragement in their faith. We also prayed together for Seoul, Vancouver and the rest of Passion’s trip/ministry. Continue to do good Kingdom work guys! Louie, your message was great, I wanted to contact you by e-mail because I have some questions regarding the whole Passion production overall…. Wow…….wow. All I can say is: PRAISE JESUS!! Looking through those pictures andreading these blogs filled me with so much joy for what God is doing in the hearts of people in cities around the world! I was at Passion:Atlanta and will be at Passion: Tokyo in two days. Let me tell you, people here in Japan are buzzing with excitment about it. I am so excited to see what God has done in MC, Van., and Seoul and am SO excited to see what He will do here in Japan!!! Japan has been waiting YEARS, probably even decades for something like this! I don’t know that anything like this has ever happened here, and all I can do is praise God because of what you’re allowing Him to do through you and through your ministry!
So thank you so so so much for letting Him move in and through you!

I think that “Passion in Seoul” was very careful prepared.
It made Korean youth happy to worship God.
Actually I can hardly believe that I worshiped with Passion in Seoul.

정말 너무 은혜가 넘치는 예배였습니다.
지금까지 서울에서도 수많은 집회가 있었지만 오직 예수님만을 찬양한
집회는 passion 서울집회가 유일했던 것 같습니다.
너무나 좋은시간이였구요.

Hey guys thank you so much for praying for Seoul! We want to remember that people from Vancouver, Mexica and US prayed for us. Because God answered your prayers, the conference was filled with grace. When Louie mentioned that Vancouver is praying for us, I was so touched. Thank you Vancouver for prayers and donations. We also prayed for Vancouver earnestly on the first night as we feel your love. Personally I had been in Vancouver for 3 and half years and just came back to Korea in August, this passion tour was very meaingful to me. Cuz it just came from the city where I already miss & where my friends are at!
And thank you Mike for the lovely banner of “God bless Seoul.” Even though I was sitting in the middle of the crowd, it still touched my heart. We are continuing this love to Tokyo.

I had great days in seoul because of you guys and God!
It was full of PASSION of singing and praying.

but more than that I was so glad to be with you, sing and pray with you, and the most great thing was we were doing these things in his name!

it was a blessing experience and i was very lucky to go as a younger student under college.
i felt very blessed
we had very good music and very strong speakers

matt redman, david crowder band*, chris tomlin, pastor fracis chan, and pastor louis :D
usually at a retreat you go to you’d feel blessed powerfully
but this the passion conference is a whole new level of feeling God’s love for you. i guarantee that you will feel more blessed than any retreat ,revival, fellowship as i felt. compared to all those this is what i guess is called “the experience of a lifetime”
(they will be updating the website at 1 am)
for those who are planning to go
prepare for something big in your lives
and others who have not gone
i highly recomend that you should go if you’d love to feel God’s love and grace.

2월에 패션이 월드투어를 하고 있는데, 서울에 10월에 온다는 사실을 처음 알았습니다.. 그때부터 기대함으로 예배를 마치고 왔는데요..
대전에서 간 길이었는데, 정말 최근 2주동안 엄청 설렘과 떨림속에 기대함으로 갔습니다..
정말 하나님은 실망시키지 않으시는 분이셨습니다!
솔직히 말씀보다는 찬양 위주로 조금은 가볍지 않을까 싶었는데,
찬양의 힘은 물론이고, 메세지 또한 너무나 강력했습니다!
프랜시스 챈 목사님의 오늘 오전 설교에서 진짜 눈물이 멈추지 않아서,
정말 숨 고르기 바빴구요..
오후에 데이빗 크라우더의 예배엔 정말 기뻐서 내 자신이 어쩔 줄 몰라했습니다..
그리고 벤쿠버로부터 받은 축복과 사랑과 기도를,
우리가 도쿄로 보낸다고 생각하니 너무나 떨렸습니다..
정말 세계를 위해 기도하고, 하나가 된다는 게 이런거구나..
하는 것을 이제 조금 알게 된 것 같습니다..

처음에는 걱정도 많이 했습니다.
아… 영어가사도 아직 다 못 외웠는데, 모르는 찬양 너무 많은데,
자막보면서 하면 묵상도 제대로 안될텐데 하면서요^^:
하지만 그것은 확실한 저의 기우였습니다.
‘난 영어를 잘 알아듣지 못해’라고 생각하는것은
제가 하나님의 역사를 제한하고 있는 것이었어요.
비록 영어는 못하지만 주님을 향해 마음을 열고 내 마음의 고백을 할때,
주님의 임재하심을, 주님이 마음을 만지심을 느낄 수 있었어요.
(그리고 영어는 못해도 내가 묵상하는 것이 가사가 비슷하게 되도록
하나님이 도우시는 것 같이 느껴지더라구요^^)
그리고 은혜는 내가 무언가를 잘해서가 아닌 값없이 주는 주님의 선물이라는
말씀 또한 제 마음속 깊히 묵상하고 담게 되었습니다.
집회오기전 주님의 사람이라고 하면서 항상 무너지고 넘어지는 내 자신에
회의가 들고, 내가 주님의 사랑을 받을 자격이 있을까 고민했었는데,
이 말씀을 통해서 다시한번 주님의 은혜에 대해 묵상하게 되었어요.
12일인 오늘부터 패션 도쿄가 열리게 될텐데,
도쿄에 있는, 아니 일본에 있는 하나님의 사람들이
일어나게 되기를 기도합니다^^

동경과 벤쿠버의 집회는 이미 우리와 함께 한것이었군요.

It was a fascinating worship that I have ever been!!
I loved(n love, will love!!) Passion band but didn’t know about passion enough. I thought passion is only a famous band that is consisted of worldly renown artists. (I love chirs tomlin’s music for our LORD)
But Things changed.
All Changed for this passion worship.
I’m a university student, 26years old in Korean age (25 in America, n most of the world.) I major in Sociology n plan to get M.A. and Ph.D degree on sociology.
As many Koreans do, I’m hard worker and want to be a pride of our GOD.
I’m really wanna be a wholehearted son, like Galeb n Joshua.
I nearly always work hard, study hard(relatively for me ^^;) do hard, do hard…everything! for Jesus.
but,
how?
how can I
and why?
I can say, ‘my life is for Jesus!’
but I can’t say my whole thing is for Jesus! for his glory!
I study, and work hard.
even i sleep in night less than 4.5hours. or 4 hours in average.
somethims less than.
but what for?
really for Jesus wholeheartedly??
what’s the reason that i have to work SO hard??
I had many questions n couldn’t do anything more.
because I was easily exhausted.
my burning passion was easily fade.
CAUSE it is based on my effort.
and it is mixed.
with my GLORY(for me.)
But passion said they came for Jesus’s name
only liftup his name!
only praise his name!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
i know how to lift up, and praise in method
but!
I didn’t know the meaning exactly like them, PASSION BAND!!!
so,
It changed.
Sure, I’ll live very dilligently. cause it’s one of his gifts for me :)
but what’s purpose?
I study, for renowning our GOD!
I knew this thing in my logic!
but now, I know it in SHEMA!!
All my hope was in you JESUS.
All our glory, it was to you JESUS. from very old, whenever.
SO.
ALL MY HOPE IS IN YOU
JESUS MY LORD!
ALL MY GLORY TO YOU!

오직 예수님 한분만 높여드리는 예배라 믿어 의심치 않았습니다.
친밀하신 성령님의 동행하심을 더욱더 느낄 수 있는 양일 이었고,
나 이외에 다른 것들에 대해 무지하라는 아빠의 마음을 주시는 컨퍼런스였습니다.
우리의 부모님들께서 간절히 올려드리던 그 기도가 이미 우리에게 이뤄지고 있습니다.
이제 우리세대가 더 이상 주저할 수 없습니다.
망설이거나 고민한다면, 멈춰 서고 생각할틈 없이 주저말고 돌아서 아빠의 뒤를 따라야겠습니다.
우리 함께 갑시다. 그래야만 우린 해낼 수 있습니다.^^

I’m a converted Christian so I wasn’t really familiar with Christian worship songs before, and didn’t even know who all the bands were. T.T
But, since PASSION was so famous, I always wanted to go PASSION anyways back in States but never got to go b/c many selfish reasons (like college exams, study, $, driving, etc)
then, while I’m staying in Seoul, When I heard PASSION was coming to Seoul, i was excited but wasn’t really sure if I wanted to go b/c I didn’t have much Chritian friends around me.
I prayed to God to just lead em..and HE really worked out everything for me to come to PASSION. I believe that HE prepared this night long before I even knew what PASSION was.
PASSION really gave me something that will change my life.
This is indescribable, and unbelievable but it just happened!!!!!!!!!!!!!
High Definition TV!!
The Grace of God was filling the Olympic Gym and at some point, the Gym looked so small compared to the passion and love of all the people praising the LORD.
I raelly Thank every hand that prepared for this Blessing night and also every brothers and sisters in Christ who worshiped together. and I Thank GOD for all his love and GRACE :D ~~ yay!!
I pray that our friends in TOKYO will receive much much more love and grace on Oct.12-13 and experience in change of life through God.
Praise the Lord!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! >_<

하나님의 은혜가운데 무사히 집회를 마치게 하여주신것을 감사드립니다.
주께서 우리에게 개인개인의 목적과 이땅에서의 삶을 주간하시는 주님 우리를
이끄시는 주님 우리에게 큰은혜와 축복을 주셔서 넘넘 감사합니다.
어제 집회에서 너무 큰 은혜와 감동 그리고 주체할수 없는 눈물과 주님의 큰 성령
께서 저와 함께한 모든 사람들에게 임제하심을 느끼며 너무 좋은 시간이었습니다
東京에서도 뜨거운 하나님의 성령의 뜨거운 사랑을 느끼고 체험하여 변화되는

This was a life changing experience. I had thought that I would go to the Passion Conference, listen to some good music, and go home. However, this was not the case. During the last session of the Conference on Saturday October 11, 2008, when Chris Tomlin was leading us in How Great is our God, I started to cry. This uncontrollable cry. I had never had this feeling ever in my life. I felt as if time had just stopped. Everything went quiet. I had FINALLY understood the grace of God. How awesome he really is! There aren’t enough words in the english language to describe His grace. I have never felt the Holy Spirit move like that in one place. It was overwhelming.
Going to this concert was no accident for me. God wanted me to go. I’m so lucky I got tickets and went. THANK YOU MR. PEARSON! I would like to thank all the volunteers who made this possible. I’m sorry some of you didn’t get to worship and praise with us. Without you, this would not have been possible for sure. Thank you Louie Giglio and Francis Chan for your powerful and inspirational words. Thank you Chris Tomlin, Matt Redman, David Crowder*Band, and all the people who made music. And God Bless Tokyo! I wish I was there to worship with you. You have no idea what’s coming. This was really an amazing experience and I hope Passion comes to Seoul again. I have really strengthened my relationship with Him. “Our God is a God, who saves” GOD BLESS TOKYO

It was awesome time to worship Great God with Passion team.
I have forgot so important thing but I found throught this worship time.

You should think about learning more KOREAN [I'm bias :-)]- then again with all the 17 city tours – the words in all 17 languages are very hard to remember and quite impressive!!!!!!
Passion team thank you – my co-workers and someone who I am praying for – SHE CAME and is a new Christian became closer to God and feels the grace and mercy of GOD _WOOO-hOOOO …..A couple are being called to go places for God – GO GOD – SO EXCITED!!!!!!!

volunteer라서 집회 자체에 그 하나님의 역사하심에 잘 들어가지는 못했지만,

very good time for me!!!
한국에 온다고 했을떄 CD 도 사서 들으면서 2주정도를 준비 했었거든요.. 너무 좋았어요
그리고 은혜에 대한 말씀으로 인해 다시 생각할수 있는 시간이 되었습니다.
한 2년간의 쉼속에 찾아온 패션의 예배를 통해 다시 한번 내 마음에 하나님에 대한 열정이 남아 있구나 하고 생각하게 되었습니다. 그래서 예배를 통해 하나님을 만나러 교회로 향해야 할 것 같아요!!

I never knew that Passion Seoul would make such an impact on me. What an awesome time we had in worshiping our Lord! Also, praise the Lord that He has made my dream for God clearer now. Yay~ I am going to do my best to make JESUS famous through my life and share the grace of God for us with many young people around the world.
Thank God for the wonderful blessings during Passion Seoul and thank all those who worked and prayed hard to make it possible. I pray that our brothers and sisters in Tokyo will also be greatly blessed through Passion Tokyo. ^^

it was amazing days
me and our church members run to the place
from Busan on friday
(and we rushed to Busan again for SUNDAY!)
i won’t forget the moments we had
we are forgiven ones praising forever
special thanx to our 2 pastors
who drove the car for almost a day
for us to get the experience!!!!!!!!!!!!!
amazing grace.. unending love..

im brazilian, but unfortunately i couldnt went to the Passion Sao Paulo. But by the grace of God im stay in korea now, and i had the chance to go to Passion Seoul! Awesome time to worship..!! i love the conference!

Ele permite que participemos da sua gloria, e atraves de Sua belissima graca desfrutamos do seu grandioso amor! Atraves dessa conferencia Deus fez nascer de novo a semente que estava plantada em meu ser! Me fez entender sua graca, agora tudo ira mudar! (everthing will change)

A new has been started but the energy remain still..
In this morning before going to school, I prayed for Passion Japan, wearing the wrist band, that there’d be far more spark of the Holy spirit in Japan than ours and on those who lost hope for a life, wandering for nowhere..
Me and my friends have found and shared a vision during the conference and have refilled with lots of joy and excitment for new days ahead of us!!
Though the show is over, I know the word of God will foster to move me even further and steadfast~!!
“Greater things have yet to be come, greater things still to be done in this city” & me, AmeN :)

사실 기대하지 않았습니다.
chris tomlin이 나온다는 말을 듣고 그의 찬양을 듣고 싶어 갔습니다.
그런데, 하나님께서는 그곳에서 저에게
뜻밖의 은혜를 주셨습니다.
주님을 위해 살고자 하지만, 스스로 아무것도 할수 없는
자신을 보며 절망하고 피곤하여 지쳐있던 저에게
francis chan 목사님을 통해 “to do nothing” 이라는
충격적인 말씀을 주셨습니다.
아무것도 하지 말고 그냥 하나님이 주실 은혜를 기다리고
바라라는 말씀은 저의 심령에 새로운 소망을 주었습니다.
저는 내가 하고자 했던, 내가 붙잡고 있던 것들을
내려놓고자 결단했습니다.
그리고 단순하게, 순수하게 자격없는 자에게 은혜를 주시도록
다시 간구하게 되었습니다. 그리고 조용히 하나님앞에
나아가 그냥 가만히 하나님의 은혜를 바라고 기다리는
삶을 다시 살게 되었습니다.
지금 저는 행복합니다.
‘passion’ 을 통해 역사하신 하나님을 찬양합니다.!!

I really thank God to call me to worship amazing God with Passion team.
God encourged me again to have a passionate heart
for the revival of campus all over the world,
and I pray that all the generations of this world would worship God!
Now I took off the wrist band.
I should have prayed more…
I’m sorry but I’m sure that God will make a way through our prayer.
I believe God will be praised all over the world where we are!

처음에 패션 집회 장소에 들어섰을 때를 기억합니다.
큰 경기장에 하나님을 찬양하기 위해 세계 각지에서 몰려든 수많은 사람들…
하나님이 너무 위대하고, 크고, 높아만 보여서
많은 사람중에 나같이 작은 사람이 하나님 눈에 보일까…?
하는 생각에 서글펐는데
메세지 전하셨던 목사님 말씀에 큰 은혜와 위로를 받았어요.
하나님의 은혜라는 주제로 말씀 전하셨는데..
은혜,은혜,은혜라는 단어가 나올 때 마다
하나님께서 저의 이름을 부르시는 것만 같아서 큰 위로가 되었어요.
그리고 크리스 탐린을 참 좋아하는데
제 생에 이렇게 직접 보게될줄은 몰랐어요. ^^
한국에 와주셔서 정말 감사합니다.

HALLELUJAH!! Praise be to our Amazing God whose loves overflows to all the world! My name is Erin and it was I that got to receive the “God Loves Seoul” Banner (Mike, I read your comment above…if you get to read this one day I just want to say that God used you to blow me away!)
As soon as Louie began to unroll the banner I could feel the tears just welling up in my eyes. It was just a glimpse of God’s providence over his people and the love that is to connect all of us as one family and one body. I can’t explain all the emotions I was feeling at that moment but one thing was clear God was calling me to now do my part and make a sign for Japan!! (Me and a friend made the banner with the bridge connecting Korea and Japan =) )
I’ve been in Korea for about over 2 years and am currently serving at a Campus ministry at Yonsei University with my husband (who is also pastoring an English Ministry in Seoul). More than half of our students were able to attend Passion Seoul (we were the crazy ones always in the front mosh pit) and i can say that God lit a fire of true passion in so many of their hearts!
Praise God… He is SOOOOOO Good!!! May the Fire of God continue to be passed on from country to country and Spread to the ends of the world!!! We’re praying for you all!!!

내 안에 숨겨져있던 열정이 드러나는 시간이었던 것 같습니다.
더 일찍 글을 남기고 싶었는데 에러가 뜨는 바람에 이제야 남기네요.^^;;
패션을 통해 다시 한번 하나님을 향한 나의 열정을 발견하는 시간이여서 너무 감사합니다. 또한 주변의 시선에 의식하지 않고 예배 드릴 수 있어서 넘 좋았습니다.
이땅에 하나님의 은혜가 흘러넘치길..
하나님을 찬양하는 소리가 가득하길 기도합니다..

늦게 글을 남기게 되는군요.
블로그에 글을 남기는것을 생각하고 있었는데.
늦었지만 패션의 예배에 스탭으로 섬기게되어 참으로 큰 기쁨이었습니다.
패션의 찬양을 더욱 좋아하게 되었고, 하나님의 은혜를 다시금 느낄수 있는 시간이 되어 만족했습니다.
앞으로도 영원까지 영광받으실 주님을 나의 삶의 예배로 드리기 원합니다.

그동안 이런 집회를 가보지 못하고 갈 생각조차 안하고 있었는데
제가 얼마나 하나님을 사랑하는지 느끼게 해주는 예배였고
비록 영어는 못하고 알아듣기 힘들지만 하나님께서 그 모든걸

What’s taken me so long to check out this blog, I don’t know, but I’m so blessed to read all the comments. I’m reading through them and humbled by the immensity of God’s will in working out all the details for people to get there in order that He would meet with them there. I love reading about all the connections people had. When I heard that people in Vancouver at a university were praying I wondered if it was the university that I graduated from. Sure enough, it was. I graduated from Trinity Western University a year and a half ago. This was very encouraging to me.
I’ve been in South Korea for eight months and Seoul Passion was the first time I heard the Word of God taught in English and sang to him in my own language with other Christians. I have been wondering what my Korean brothers and sisters thought. I cannot say how encouraging it is to know there are young Koreans who were touched by God at Seoul Passion. I’m an English teacher and I attended the conference with my three fellow American English teachers. It was a good time for all four of us to worship God together and also see God’s name acknowledged in Korea!
I didn’t know exactly what to expect from the weekend, but God met me there, very intimately. I have been reading through Isaiah and three weeks before Seoul Passion I came across Is. 26.8 “In the path of your judgements, O LORD, we wait for you: your name and remembrance are the desire of our soul.” It really stuck out to me. Just days before Seoul Passion I wrote it down and put it above my desk at work. It was really affirming to hear a message on this verse because I’ve been wondering if I’m hearing rightly from God. But, yes, He has been speaking to me here in Korea! I’ve also been trying to see Korean people and culture from God’s perspective, and it was affirming to hear that Pastor Chan felt very pressed to pray for Koreans and share the things on God’s heart for Korean people. Some things echoed my own prayers and some things helped me adjust my perspective to resemble more closely the Father’s heart/thoughts regarding Korea. Also for myself, I needed to hear that simple, yet profound message on the grace of God. How often I trust in myself, but how patient He is to remind me that He is the point, that we can do nothing good without him, and that He loves us and wants to be near to us. He is not a god who is distant. He is not a god who is looking for performers or actors. He’s not looking for amusement, he’s looking for relationship. Jesus came to be near us, to make us his friends.
We say yes God. Come. We love your ways. Be faithful to Your Spirit living in us!
Jesus, may you find your bride eagerly anticipating your return!

Dude, Louie – your lookin’ old! :) But, not Shelly. I found your blog via Tomlin’s website. I was looking for some encouragement after being downsized. Just reviewing the world passion tour gave me quite a boost. What an awesome move of God around the world. In a tiny way I feel linked. I am looking forward to meeting my oriental family in heaven. Thanks for going on our behalf. This is crazy beyond 7th & James! I love it! I am praying for you and your team. If you have specific prayer request let me know.
By the way, I introduced my 7 year old to my old Bible. I still have my “Commitment” statement dated 5/1/89 from Choice (I’m getting old too). My son is very interested in following The Way. Especially when I showed him how it is a lot like being a spy!

패션집회를 마친지 벌써 한달도 넘었지만,
아직도 저의 마음속에 그 은혜의 시간들이 남아있습니다.
힘들때 주님의 은혜를 다시한번 생각해 봅니다.
주님의 은혜는 처음부터 나에게 거저 주셨습니다.
내가 잘나서도 내가 무엇을 잘해서도 아니고,
오히려 죄인이었던 저를 찾아와 주셔서 사랑해 주셨습니다.
그게 엄청난 은혜임을 깨닫는 시간이었습니다.
감사합니다.
정말 그 은혜를 잊지않고 천국가는 그날까지 생각하며 살겠습니다.
