The “Thrilla In Manila”

Not to be denied, we are posting from Manila after an AMAZING night here!  I say “not denied” because we were awakened this morning to an e-mail from Google saying their spam robots had blocked access to our Blog today because they thought we were harmfully spamming the Blog community.  Not sure what triggered that action (not what we need from the company who lives by the motto – Don’t Be Evil) on day one of this second leg of the Passion World Tour when we have a lot of people all around the globe waiting to here about what God did in the Philippines tonight!  But fear not, our phenomenal team (Matt back at the Passion House and Jonathan here in Manila) created a brand new 268Blog in less than 24 hours!  Come on!!  Let’s hear it for these guys and the heroic job they did building and launching a whole new thing on top of getting everything rolling at the venue today!  So to Google’s robots I say, “interesting timing”.  And to all of you who are with us on this beautiful journey…thanks for checking in and walking with us through a night we will never forget.

We’re posting a podcast right now, so you’ll be able to hear some of what happened for yourselves, but for now, tonight was a microcosm of Manila, controlled chaos in a tightly confined space…beautiful and crazy!  I haven’t heard a final number, but somewhere near 8,000 loud Filipinos eventually just took over the night and almost brought the place down.

Speaking of the LOUD Filipinos, Brazil, we have found your people!!  They are over here on the 7000+ islands that make up this nation, crazy people that make me wonder what the Brazilian/Filipino section of forever is going to be like!  All I know is I want to get into that section!

I’m not sure how to fully describe what happened, but let’s just say these guys have fully embraced the message and music of Passion and were up for everything that came their way.  They even started singing on “Jesus Messiah” like they knew it…and funny thing, they did!  YouTube?!?! But tonight was more than unbridled enthusiasm, tonight a deposit was made that we pray will shake things up forever as the young people of this nation say “Yes” to Jesus and follow Him wherever and however He leads.

Our days and nights are still pretty upside down right now (I’m writing this at 1:12 AM, but my body has no clue what time is should be), so we’re going to crash before we fly out to Malaysia tomorrow.  And as we sleep (actually as tired as I am it may take a while to wind down from this one) we will be thanking God for all of you.  We have never felt so connected to people before, and as today got closer and closer we could feel the wind of your support and prayers at our backs.

God is alive and well here in this city, a metro area of 14 million of the most beautifully-hearted people you have ever seen.  And we are humbled to be a part of the unfolding story here for His renown.

Greater things have yet to come…and we saw a little taste of that tonight in Manila!  Wow.  Wow.  Wow!

Louie

PS-London, thanks for praying us all the way to here!  Great job!  Now Manila is praying for you KL!

Was at the concert this evening. Was really blessed to by the music, the fellowship, and the preaching of God’s word. I thank God for using your ministry to encourage young people like me to make a difference for the Lord. Thank you for coming to Manila.

  2. Alec Says:

    Hello Mr. Giglio,

I just came home from this event. And I’m really thankful to God that you picked Manila as one of your destination for this world tour. I was and still am blessed on what has happened last night–the worship, the word, and everything in between. Rest assured that we Filipinos will be praying for you and Kuala Lumpur.

    To God be the glory.

  3. Ralph Says:

God has affirmed a message to me this night. TO EVERY DETAIL IN MY LIFE, HE HAS A PLAN FOR ME!

This tour was just the perfect venue for God telling me that He is in control. The message just struck me. The music just made my heart jump.

This is one of the rarest times that I cried because of the message. Hey, I am a man and men don’t cry, we just sweat through our eyes! hahaha. But seriously, the message just went in, straight. I was struck at the moment when it was said that it’s the last entry on the diary. (Hey. I know where this leads, and I know I don’t want that ending!) But that “twist” in the story just gave me the challenge to do the same. That story just made me realize that as Christian, we can be a medium that God can use to pour out His grace and with our walk with Him, lives can change.

I was never supposed to go to this conference. But God just put me there.

I got the worst seat, way up to the top of the building, but man, that didn’t matter. I saw the people from there jumping altogether.

I didn’t bring a car. But suddenly my friends called me up and offered me a ride.

I never planned this night. God did.

This night will never leave my memories.

PS. Oh and hey, calling out to Chris. Can we meet up? I wanna get your offer of the free airfare! hahaha. Kiddin!

God bless all of you, guys. KL, GET READY!!!

    With all the prayers,
    Ralph

  7. Jonathan Las Says:

    Louie and Passion Team,

Tonight, I sat/stood/cried/hollered/worshipped (among other crazy things) with college kids from the church where I’m currently worship pastor, GCF (Greenhills Christian Fellowship).
For a 30-year-old worship pastor, I stood amongst younger people wishing that somehow Passion made its way to Manila when I was in college 10 years ago! At the same time, I thought of how tonight’s event will a affect this generation and the ones to come, and how lives will be changed because of Passion Manila.

Thank you for not just stopping by Manila, but really engaging young Filipinos to worship and challenging them/us to be God’s agents who will shout out HIS fame to this generation and the next, until Jesus returns!

The Lord bless your time in KL!

    Jonathan

    hi Passion Team,

God has greatly used you in this City… Many people are hurting about lots of things here in the City… some of us are a bit discouraged about the situation here both politically and Socially… This evenings event is very great and timely for us all… Indeed, we have a great and wonderful God… And He is going to do great things in this City. Thank you for being a channel of that message to us.

I hope you can come back to the philippines and visit the other cities like Cebu and Davao in the south… they surely need the encouragement.

God bless you and your ministry…. Kuala Lumpur is Next… they are in our prayers…. And God is going ot do great things in that City as well.

  12. Sarah Says:

Hi! I just got home from this event, and MAN I still can’t get over how AWESOME God was tonight! He really moved and ministered to all of us… I seriously had a hard time leaving; we could have gone on all night! Haha!

(I was trying to come up with a blog entry about this, but I can’t come up with a post with one continuous thought, so here I am with a scattered comment here, too.)

Thank you, Passion, for coming to Manila, and a huge “THANK YOUUUUU!!!” (in all caps, complete with exclamation marks) to the London guys for praying for Manila.

We pray that your trip to KL be safe, and that KL will experience God in mighty ways through you. Much love and blessings to you guys!

  13. Jot Says:

    hey louie!

actually i just knew about passion from your message in a dvd that my mom gave me one time (Hint: LAMININ) and i was instantly amazed by the way u did the talk and the talk itself! as chris tomlin said it earlier tonight back in ultra, you delivered it perfectly and strongly, if i got my memory right. that dvd has traveled through out all my friends, both not yet christians and christians alike, and all of them have loved it!

i just want to say that your ministry is amazing. God has been using you greatly and please please please never get tired of being used by God thru Passion becaue you all are greeeeeeeeeaaaaaattt!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

the music was great! the message was, well, unexpected-endingly great! (to ashley’s dad, please tell him thank you for allowing you to use her journal and share it with us. let him know that what he did touched my life and i am sure it also touched everybody else’s a while ago in ultra.) the dancing was great! and the worshipping and praying were all the best icings on the cake!

God bless Passion and continue with this ministry alwaaaaaays!!!!!!!! God is glorified undoubtedly!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  14. Raine Says:

You touched the hearts and souls of all the people in the ultra this evening. I was really blessed that I made the right decision of choosing to attend the concert over my class (which was eventually canceled because my prof didn’t show up. praise God!). Thank you for rekindling our faith and igniting our passion to live our life for Jesus. I was crying the whole time while worshiping with the people who also loves God. We’ll be witnesses of His great love! Continue to spread His word to all the youth. More power to your team. Great things already came, but greater things will come. God bless!

  15. Roo Says:

There are those moments in life when something so big, so insane, so overwhelming and so beyond you happens and words escape you and you just go “wow!”. This is one of those moments.

    Wow.

The raw unbridled outpouring of God’s love and grace was there, swirling around us, penetrating through our skins and through our hearts. Bless you, Passion Team as you continue to make Jesus’ name famous in more cities and more nations the world over.

To KL, you have our prayers! Wearing green/white bands in our wrists, we are excited for what will happen there on Sunday. Many miles from where you are, our hearts will be there to worship with you.

  16. Simply Captivating Says:

How could it not be Grace?

‘t was Grace that brought over 8,000 young Manilenos to one jampacked place on one very rainy night.

‘t was Grace that brought the Ashleys of before to the foot of the cross, intensely and completely aware of their need for salvation, for Grace.

‘t was Grace that brought the 5-second flames into the flame that goes on and on — Jesus.

and it’s through Grace, by Grace, in Grace that each one of us can go on, going forth wherever, whenever, however, whatever God calls us to–walking in the way of His truth.

thank You, Passion 268 for sharing, living, breathing Grace–on to KL, South Africa, and beyond.

    Saved by Grace,
the girls of Simply Captivating cellgroup from KBCF

  17. LA Says:

This is really one of the most unforgettable events in my life.

I can’t help but sing and cry at the same time. And the word is really encouraging for the Filipinos, young and old, who attended this event.

    To the Passion Team,

Thank you very much. May God bless you for KL, the rest of the tour, and always.

I hope you’ll be back here in Manila soon.

    Godspeed.

  18. Ben Garcia Says:

I had to wipe my tears a few times because of God’s powerful reminders. I cant thank you enough for bring the passion back in our hearts. Yes, God is doing great things in this city, but I hope other Philippine cities would receive the blessing too. It is quite amusing that whenever the songs were sung, I am personally reminded that God is also the God of this country.

Yes we will pray for Kuala Lumpur. May it be a great reminder to you that GOD is unchanging, forever faithful. And this part of GOD assures us that if GOD moved the Philippines (in particular, Manila), GOD will also move Kuala Lumpur. God Bless. Thanks Louie.

  19. Kim E. Deloria Says:

Dear Louie and the rest of the Passion people,

Wow!!!! What can I say? That was one of the most amazing experiences ever. The rain, the crowds, the sweat and all that grind never ruined it. Not one bit. It brought me to a face to face encounter with God again. Just like when I first met Him.

Again, wow!!! you have no idea about the impact that you’ve made to a lot of people.

    My gratitude,
    Kim

  20. Kristin Says:

It brings my heart great joy to read the responses to this evening’s time in Manilla! Looks like God accomplished more than we could have prayed or asked for! Can’t believe the second leg is already here. May the passion team find rest as you sleep!

Praying you all forward from Austin,TX!

  21. Zeus Martinez Says:

To the Passion Team, Chris and Louie (yes, we’re close!)

I praise God for you guys and for just sharing your passion and your craziness with us Filipinos. I was really blessed during the whole time. At first I was wondering what Louie was going to talk about. I said to myself, he couldn’t possibly come up with something better than Laminin.

So God did. <3 He gave us His presence and His love.

You know what, I’ve been struggling for a while now with guilt and I actually felt a lot like Ashley because I screwed up on a lot of things—even after accepting Christ into my heart and into my life. I once cried to a friend saying that Jesus couldn’t change me…that He couldn’t possibly do anything with my life because I messed it up. But tonight, I found a renewed hope. Tonight, if felt as if I was introduced to my Savior all over again.

You have absolutely no idea what you’ve done here in Manila! This tour that God arranged will resound forever and will definitely be talked about when we all get to Heaven. Your story of how “fruitcake Krista” showed grace to her obnoxious roommate Ashley really touched my heart and inspired me to really be among the lost…not to be like them, but to reflect the face of a loving God.

Before tonight, I honestly forgot how much God loved me. That he DID die for me and my mistakes and failures. Tonight, God opened my eyes.

    In Christ,
    Zeus

  22. DZ Says:

i only got one word to describe this event: INDESCRIBABLE!!! (how ironic is that?! hahahaha)

Thank you Lord for allowing me to go to this event! You really used the Passion team to rekindle the fire in my heart to serve You!

Thanks Passion Team for allowing us to be part of God’s great plan of revival here in our city and the whole world!

Now it’s time for me to be a “Fruitcake” to the “Ashley’s” around me!

For my brothers and sisters in KL, we’ll be praying for y’all!

  23. Nicollo Lopez Says:

I have no other words but thankyou!!! Thankyou for your obedience to Christ! You have blessed me this night Passion Manila! Indeed… we need more fruitcakes in this planet! Hehe… will be praying for KL… for your team and for breakthroughs and most importantly… for Jesus to move (especially in that Muslim-dominated country). :)

Cause if Jesus won’t, “it” wont…

Praise be the name of Jesus!

    Sincerely,

    Nic

    just got home 2:00 pm….
    still have may wristband…
    still sweating………
    still teary eyed……

One thing, keeps going on my mind:
    YOU ARE AMAZING GOD……….
    YOU ARE AMAZING GOD……….
    YOU ARE AMAZING GOD……….
    YOU ARE AMAZING GOD……….

  29. Jenn Says:

With only a pm invite from my former boss thru yahoo messenger, a “how great is our God” youtube link from a friend, & the thought that my officemate is one of the ushers of this show at hand, I still cant figure it out why those little things encouraged me to attend this concert.

I wasnt excited at all to go since ive been having a terrible cold 2 days before the Passion & never heard of Chris Tomlin or even Louie before (until now of course). But Im so so glad I went anyways.

I felt kinda nervous though because, my gosh, I dont have any idea what Im attending to. I dont know Chris.. My boss kept on repeating Louie’s whole name & I say, “Louie what? Sir?” on the back of my head. I felt like a fool, imagining all the people singing along with Chris, with me just pretending that I know whats happening around me.
Surprisingly, the lyrics that was written in the projectors, I kinda felt I know them. I was in tune! This is the first time I heard all of Chris & Kristian’s songs but man, I was singing with the crowd like I know every bit of it! :) I was standing most of the time, clapping my hands like there’s no tomorrow.

One of the highlights that I really liked was about Ashley’s journal. It really made me realize that God does not give up on “screw ups,” like me. He has this overflowing love for us that makes miracles. That story will forever remain in my mind.

I appreciate Louie, Chris, Kristian, the amazing band, the whole Passion team & most especially the Lord for allowing me to experience God. It was such an amazing night. The cheap ticket was all sooooo worth it! ;)

Continue to inspire more & more people thru your music & preachings.
    Glory be to God.

From now on, I going to live a life that Christ will be proud of :)

    KL, GET READY TO RUMBLEEEEEEEEEEEE!!!!

    HOW GREAT IS OUR GOD

  32. Eunice Ching Says:

    LOVE THE PASSION TEAM!!!

    TO YOU ALL…
This is the only time I’ve got to praise God extremely… Shouting how good is HE and HOW awesome is HE! This is the time where I have seen thousands of people worshipping together, praying together, listening together and singing together enthusiastically… It’s really awesome how God had bring us all Filipinos to gather as we worship him this night…
I can say that this is the night I would not ever forget! You have let each 8000 Filipinos realize and experience the love of GOD to us… You leave to us the challenge of sharing the gospel unstopped, that we should not be scared about what other people might say to us like the Fruitcake in the story… LOL ^O^… It’s our turn now to proclaim God’s love to our brother and sisters… You bring us close and connected to God… I can’t stop crying when I have fully realized how the world needs God and how the world refuse to be with God. Joy, Compassion, Hope, Love, Peace are the things I felt while I am singing so loudly… Nothing really compares to experience God in my heart and mind…
Actually, I felt that I have a calling in Full time ministry or Missionary, but somewhere along the time I am asking God whether it’s true or not, I’m doubting about his plan for me (that’s bad!!!) but after I’ve watch this concert, It had put in my passion is sercing God more each day… I felt the deep happiness and my rejoicing heart when I hear more and more people shouting for Jesus’ name… I love the feeling sharing to them how good and how he bless me all the days of my life… Songs refreshes my soul…
I also felt that there is really nothing impossible with God because all things are possible… God really is the God of our country through the song sung by Chris Tomlin. Even our country suffers a lot, he is always there for us… we just need to come to him… I felt blessed that our country is democratic where we can freely express our religion…
All the feelings that I have felt this night, pulls me back to be in God… to love, and serve him always… I felt the power of the Holy Spirit in our prayers… God surely is rejoicing up in heaven as we hear our cry of worship for him! Thanks Passion Team, You are the one who bridge the gap between us and God… You have reunited us with him through your songs… Love all your songs… It made me inspire to worship God high above everything… Your songs move us even more to God!
I would pray for our brothers and sisters in Kuala Lumpur, that they would also experience what we have experience… The blessings of refreshments and renewal of our souls for Jesus… God moves is idescribable into our lives…

MORE POWERS TO THE PASSON TEAM… MAY YOU CONTINUE TO BRING PEOPLE TO GOD THROUGH YOUR GREAT SONGS! ITS A WONDERFUL NIGHT…

    In Christ’s Love,
    Eunice

  33. jo Says:

It’s really unfathomable how God can love us so much even if we’re undeserving and ungrateful! How awesome is our God?!

May God use your team to reach and minister to more people!

    God Bless!

  34. chel subillaga Says:

    Hi Team Passion!

it is indeed a BLESSED EVENING. How i hoped the night would not end. It was a wonderful wonderful experience and full of revelations and thank God that He sent you here.

It certainly moved me and I felt the Holy Spirit was indeed in the place especially when we sang “GOD OF THIS CITY”…or something of that sort. All those words, it felt like, collectively, the Filipino youth and not so youth are blessing the Philippines. This country needs revival. This country needs to believe that God is capable of doing so much to this land. This country needs faith that God is not yet done with us, that what ever turmoil, whatever hardships, God will never forsake Philippines. This is God’s promise and God renounced that this night.

Tonight, is a wonderful and splendid woship night. That it doesnt matter whether one can sing or not, it doesnt matter if someone is in tune or not. It doesnt matter if someone would look funny with hands held high, clapping and shouting and dancing at the bleachers. No one can stop one soul in worshipping the Messiah. We had nice music and it was fun and its….

    crazy crazy crazy

Whatever God has done, whatever God is planning to do, yes, indeed its crazy more than cool. Crazy because who on earth would do such thing? Who would carry mankinds’ sins in His account? Who would send his unconditinal love? Who would provide grace more than what was asked for? No one but God. And there in no other like Him.

How I wish I could fly to KL and see you guys again. Maybe yes, maybe not yet. But I am praying to see you in Atlanta one day.

Praying that God will continue to use you mightily in touching just so many more lives. May His Spirit just continue to lead you and strengthen you!:) Thanking God for sincere hearts in serving Him. May you never grow weary!

Excited for what He’s gonna do in & through you in KL! It’s just awesome, awesome news to hear that God is already breaking the barriers there!:D

  38. Ezekiel Roel Rodriguez Says:

It’s just a start of something great that is about to happen, not just in Manila, but in the whole Philippines!

God has moved many young people tonight, people who are ready to shout God’s name for his renown in this country. Time will come that Philippines will be a true Christian nation, rocking 7,101 islands, singing in great awe and love of God. That will be sooner… sooner, I believe!

This wrist tag in my right hand… this will be a reminder that there is an ongoing chain of prayer in the whole Earth… country praying for another country. That’s really great. Be ready, KL! Philippines will be praying hard for you. We Filipinos know that God will do something really great on your country. Watch out for a great revival coming in your land!

That was not just a concert. A concert is where you watch the performers sing. But we did not just watch. We all sang and worshiped God. Filipinos are bunch of people who are really excited to declare the greatness of God. A proof? How about the crowd taking over Chris Tomlin and Mr. Giglio singing How Great is our God?

Well, God is really great! Amazing God! Dakilang Diyos!

Yes! Greater things have yet to come… And greater things are still to be done…

    Thank you God!

    I love you so much!

Way to go, Matt and Jonathan!

I came to the blog without really expecting to find anything new already (due to the time difference), but here I am and WOW!

It’s so refreshing to be back with you guys on the tour through prayers and the blog and the podcasts… speaking of which, I’m gonna download the podcast right away (now that iTunes is finally working again in my computer… yay!).

Too bad Manila is so far away! I guess we’ll really have to wait for eternity to know what it will sound like when Brazilian and Filipinos get together… man, just imagine how’s it gonna be when ALL of us around the globe and throughout History get together to celebrate God… speechless…

I’ve got some tasks to finish, but should be back after listening to the podcasts and reading the comments (I was missing this).

    God bless you all!

No matter what sin we have, to know that He took our sins is enough to bring us to our knees – although we may take many steps away from God it only takes one to turn back to Him….praise the Lord
May you all rest well….God bless you all

Well, I was WONDERING what was happening with this blog – google has offically lost it’s brain : ) So, glad for the new blog tho’
I am SOOO excited to hear about Manila and cant wait to hear this new podcast!!! It’s so cool that they knew Jesus Messiah!

I’m with Louie on getting to the brazilian/Filipino side of Heaven : )
Wow, it’s so amazing… I wish I could be with you all in person – seeing the nations worship, but since that’s not to be yet, thank you for keeping us connected with you all!!!!!

    woo-hoo!

  42. Steve Says:

Great praise report Louie! I lead a growing fellowship in northern California with a prominant Filipino membership. When you used the adjectives “beautifully-hearted” and “humble” you nailed it! Rejoicing with you as a wonderful nation gets rocked by Him and for Him.

  43. Larry Parane Says:

Hi! I just got home from the event. I quickly made a blog about the it and here’s some of the things that I wrote:

I can’t help but cry during the prayers and the songs (that either I know so well or it’s just the first time i heard of). It’s not because it was like, “man, they play so well!” or because “i feel like i’m in a movie where the background music urges me to feel things,” or because “he was talking or praying so dramatically that i couldn’t help but go on with the flow..”. NO! What made me cry so hard last night was simply because I felt the power of God through Jesus. God was talking to me in a very personal manner that He made me vulnerable and took me out of my zone and humbled me and overwhelmed me by entering my heart. He reminded me that the way I felt His love before when I was baptized, and in numerous times when I was so high with Him, was STILL the same right now! Oh man, if only I could put this indescribable feeling i have right now and put it in a jar so that whenever i feel that God is so far from me, I could open the jar and feel His power again.. I’ll praise You in this storm! and even if I can’t keep this promise and fall down, I know You will use the Holy Spirit in me and use my family and friends to keep me going. You have a plan for me.

I am so humbled right now that I have been and will be part of this major blockbuster movie of God that i am calling “His Glory”. This night was a thousand times better than The Dark Knight because it talks about the glory of a living, risen and a REAL Savior.

“For greater things have yet to come, and greater things are still to be done in this city..
there is no one like our God..”

If only this ‘me’ being at its ultimate state of ‘high’ness of God’s love would last for the rest of my life..

I do pray that God uses The Passion World Tour to be a major instrument for His Glory.

  54. Jonas Says:

5:45am still cant sleep! I am still hyped up!

Passion Conference in Manila is indeed a success!More than 7,000 students and ministers sing out their all to our Lord most High. As i went home soaking wet God had impressed in my heart the late Helen Keller’s quote:

“I am only one, but still I am one. I cannot do everything but I can do something. Because I cannot do everything I wont refuse to do the something I can do”

As we continue to press on and believe that God has given us an extraordinary life: No circumstances will hinder us to spread the fire. We will continue to spread the fire for others to see and join us as we make this nation Live the Glory of God.

Someone once said, “I dreamed of things impossible.” I too dream of impossible things. Things I hide within my chest and think over only within the comfort and safety of the dome of my head. Things that people would scoff at if they knew. But I believe that my dreams have a chance to bloom someday and with tender cultivation and belief in God, these impossible things can finally be made possible.

Don’t Settle on the normal life; You have an extraordinary Life! As Chris said “You [We] were made for more than this world sells. All that this world has to offer is temporary. It leaves us still hungry, wanting more, because you were made for something greater. We were created to shine the spotlight on God – to spread His fame everywhere we Go.

I am so excited for the greater things that will happen in this city and the Great things that will happen to the next generation of His army in this Land!

Thank you so much Kuya Louie and the Passion team! KL Be ready!!

  56. Ruth Says:

WOW! Sounds AMAZING. All of us in London were praying for you guys…can’t wait to hear the podcast.

I really did get the sense (when praying for you) that the bar is being raised. I just saw a picture of a kind of limbo bar, which initally you’d need to bend/crouch to get under, but then it just started raising and raising!

Yes, there have been many WOW moments, God has done many many awesome things in leg 1 – but leg 2 is now underway and God wants to blow your expectations out of the water! Even seeing that some events are sold out is a huge testimony to this – God is on the move!

So with all this in mind my prayers are with you, that you’ll have God’s blessing and favour on you throghout leg 2 (and beyond!).

The bar is raising and the tide is turning!

    God bless.

    Ruth x

I think the Google robots ate my comment because I was comment #31 on the last post, and now it’s gone. Oh well, we know how the story ends!!! Praying for you all just the same.

It just continues to be amazing to see and hear about all that God is doing, and you’re right – it’s only the beginning of so much that God has in store! Amazing times!

And oh, I got that SMS at around 4pm almost 3 hours before the event. Good thing someone reserved tix for us. See how the heavens opened up for me? I was thinking maybe God really wants me to go there… He wants to tell me something. And yeah, He unfolded His message through Passion :) God is truuuuuuly a-ma-zing! Thank you guys for serving as the channel of God’s love and grace!

    Hi there!

Thank you very much for being here in Manila last night! I was so blessed with what you’ve done. All the praise and worship that we have done was the best thing that I have done for months. I mean Chris Tomlin, Kristian
    Stanfill and everything else!

And so, please do continue to serve God forever and to inspire Christians all throughout the whole wide world. And also, to touch and soften the hearts of the non-believers for them to know our one and only GOD who gives his never ending grace for us.

May I have a favor? What are the title of the songs or what are the album names of those songs that we sang last night? I wanted to save money to buy them all!

And I still did not forget my mission from last night. To pray for Kuala Lumpur.

Well then, rest for now.. I know that you were drained out from last night.

    God Bless you all..

HOW GREAT IS OUR INDESCRIBABLE GOD OF WONDERS! :-)

    What a fantastic evening!
I’d venture to say that this was the BEST worship session we’ve seen in the Philippines. I’m sure a lot will agree!

KL, you better get ready! Greater things are gonna come to your city! :-)

Thank you so much, Passion team! May the Lord bless you tremendously!

    REQUEST:
Caught up in the (as Louie would say) craziness of the worship night, not a few lost track of all of the songs we lifted up to Jesus last night. Would it be possible for anyone on the team to make available the list of songs in order of performance? We’d love to hear it again, relive memories at the PhilSports, but more than that, worship our Savior through your songs once again.

  78. Gian Says:

I didn’t expect that PASSION Manila would have a great impact in me. I excused myself from a rehearsal just to attend this event. Little did I know that God is preparing something for me. Something great that even I can’t fathom. I was really blessed by the story of Ashley. She lived a short Christian life but her life was never wasted.

I was so blessed to be a part of the crowd. Singing and dancing out loud for God even though my voice can’t take it anymore. I won’t mind if I come to our musical theatre rehearsal on monday with this kind of voice. What is more important is that I used my voice for His renown.

I don’t know why I suddenly burst into tears while singing Amazing Grace. Maybe for a fact that I’ve been living a sinful life during the past few months (or years). I just stood there and cried. I recalled the crazy stuff I did that really hurt people around me, things that really hurt Jesus. What did I do with my life? Jesus doesn’t deserve this kind of payment after saving me from death on that cross. My life is a total mess I should say.

But like what “Fruitcake” said, we Christians are not perfect. But the very essence of being a Christian is living a life that is fully dependent (is that the right word?) on God’s grace. Amazing indeed! I can say that this is really crazy!

What happened last night is an awesome and unique experience for me. After months (or years) of being deaf to God’s Word, I’m finally revived! Praise God for that! Thanks to the whole team of PASSION Manila for letting us, Filipinos, experience this. I’m really blessed by the music, the Word, the dancing, and the PASSION that’s in the heart of the people there.

    KL! Get ready!!!

  79. Nic Uyliapco Says:

    Hello everyone/mr. Giglio,

  86. Dan Ramos Says:

    one word: OVERWHELMING.

God’s been dealing something with me for many years now. A sin that i can’t seem to let go of. I’ve beent trying to deal with it myself, but i always end up failing. For the past two weeks, God’s been speaking to me, convicting me constantly through a sermon, a devotional and of course through His word.

How is this any different from those i’ve attended before? I guess it’s because i didnt know what to expect, what songs were about to be sang, what the message will be about. Unlike before, i was very song oriented, i knew what to expect – last night was different. i had an expectant heart yet i didnt know what to expect. i felt like a piece of clay being molded for the whole 4 hours.

my life is changed by Him and to Him i give back all the glory!

and through Him i will live life each day, proclaiming His name.

that though Him, whatever lifestyle i had before has been washed by His blood.

I AM A CHRISTIAN. I AM HIS SON.

    I AM A FRUITCAKE!

i thank God for using your team last night.

    PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE
post the list of songs last night. =)

thank you so much for taking this tour to Manila. ALL of us are were so blessed!

This past week was kinda dry for me spiritually and i was really praying to God that he would use Passion to speak to me. i didn’t know what to expect even though i knew Chris Tomlin and Louie Giglio(Indescribable and How Great is Our God). when my sister and i arrived(we thought 5:30 was early) and i saw the SUPER LONG LINE. i was just so encouraged by that. and God DID speak to me. He reminded me of His great love and awesome power. God reminded me last night that i am part of something greater than who i am and that i have nothing to lose if i just take that step of faith, forget all my fears and just surrender to His will. Please keep on doing what you do. You guys certainly left a mark in Manila and in all of our hearts last night.

My family and i will be praying for your ministry, and for KL of course :) thank you so much!!

But because the people (officemates) who were supposed to watch back-out and gave out their tickets so I grabbed it and brought a friend and we took the best seats, front rows. It was indescribable feelings…God you are the one! Yes Lord! Thank you for your faithfulness and unconditional Love. Praise to you Lord Jesus!

    To KL,

I just woke up, and I’m totally on a Jesus Freak HANGOVER! I never want this feeling to end. Your message last night really really woke me up and brought me to the re-realization that there is NO OTHER reason to live than for the LORD! I posted a whole long long blog entry about my experience on my blog, but you have to be my contact to view it. So if you have a Multiply account, add me up: blackmare630

Last night… Was the best night of my life. No exaggeration. I never wanted it to end. I have never felt so in touch with my God and with the Love I have for HIM. To God be all the glory!

  115. EJ Says:

    hi louie, chris and kristian!

last night was soooo great! God really touched the hearts of the Filipino youth and put a burden in their hearts to seek the lost.

i can very much remember the image of the oblation statue on the screen while we were singing the song “God of This City”, and i wasn’t able to control my craziness and cried so hard! God has put the burden back in my heart to once again get on my knees and believe that He CAN save a whole university, like the University of the Philippines, and a whole country like the Philippines. He is mighty to save!

i was also reminded of the very purpose of why God created us – to worship Him. last night was like a teaser of what life in heaven would be – eternally praising and worshipping God. and looking forward to that day makes the problems of this life seem sooo small.

first thing i thought of this morning the moment i woke up was kuala lumpur. i know God will do amazing things there! we’re praying for you all!

thank you so much louie, chris and kristian! we pray God will use you more mightily in the next legs of the tour.

Jesus is the God of this city, the King of these people and the Lord of this nation!!

God bless your team! God bless us all!
There are greater things to come!

  118. Liza Says:

Thank you Passion team for your unselfish ministry.
Thank you Ptr Louie for your great message.
You cannot believe what my friends went through just to get to the concert. We walked a long way from MRT Shaw station, under the rain, my husband first day out of 4-day sickness, we were hungry and tired, and I was thinking “This concert should be worth it or else…” AND IT WAS!

I was really touched by that part of your message, Ptr Louie, about shining for Jesus and making Him famous. It was really a significant confirmation of my prayers to really go all the way for Jesus. I’m already a music minister but I felt that God is calling me to the next level. And your message and the song “Shine your light” from Mighty to save were totally awesome!

The songs are really full of God and I felt like I was in heaven and God’s continuous revelation of Himself in that building made me want to scream “Holy, Holy, HOly!”

I really cried when we sang “Amazing grace (My chains are gone)” I was a very defeated Christian, but because of God’s amazing way of releasing prisoners our of unforgiveness and bitterness, I was awestruck by it and the only way I can tell HIM how much I love Him was to cry. GOD IS TRULY INDESCRIBABLE IN AN INFINITE NUMBER OF WAYS!

Don’t give up in your ministry! I won’t in mine! Let’s do it all for Jesus’ fame–no matter what the cost!

  133. Onah Grajales Says:

JESUS MESSIAH made me cry so hard last night. I don’t know but I just looked around ULTRA and saw people worshipping like CRAZY. It is such an INDESCRIBABLE feeling to see FILIPINOS WORSHIP, SHOUT, DANCE, JUMP, CRY, LAUGH for GOD!

I learned “GOD IN THIS CITY” through JESUS REVOLUTION NOW NIGHT last July 28. It was the movement who challenged Filipinos to be a catalyst for change in our nation.

I LOVE my country so much and last night, GOD ignited that PASSION and LOVE for my Filipino people too. I cried in awe seeing how my GENERATION can be changed by just saying “YES” to GOD! :) It is such a comforting thing and at the same time, A CHALLENGE.

As a stand and poured my heart out to GOD at PASSION MANILA, God reminded me of my former schools. And it’s as if He was talking to me, saying, “When are you going to start a radical change there?” I was moved, and said, “LORD use me, and let me be as crazy as a fruitcake can be. I WILL SAY YES to YOU!”

I am Onah, a sophomore college student at Messiah College. as I read some of the comments here, I also saw June Grace’s comment, she’s a freshmen student who went at Messiah too.

The torch that was passed on to us will not be ignored and the FLAME of JESUS will keep on burning here in PHILIPPINES. And we claim it for KL too and for the rest of the world. :)

I still want to say more… but words cannot just express what I felt in my heart right now. But one thing’s for sure… I WILL TAKE THE CHALLENGE TO SAY YES TO GOD AND BECOME THE CRAZIEST FRUITCAKE that I COULD EVER BE!

TO GOD BE THE GLORY :) GOD BLESS 268GENERATION :)

I’m so thankful to God for sending Chris Tomlin and and his company in Manila.
I was so blessed with the songs and messages. It was like a spiritual revival for me.
I don’t know about a singer/songwriter named Chris Tomlin, until the time when a Medical Mission Team from Dodge County GA. came to our church to have this medical Mission. One of the Team gave us the CD of Chris(that’s the time I have known Chris and his songs). And when i heard the songs…I’d become addicted into it, that they become my favorite.

to Chris Tomlin and kristian you’re such a good singers of God keep it up.

I will be praying for your World Tour 2008.

  144. Jacqueline Says:

All praises to God! His hand was at work last night! I pray that the message was not only in the minds, but in the heart of every person present that night. For truly, last night was not about the people there, it wasn’t about the preparation of the people involved, it was not about Jonathan Stanfill, it was not about Chris Tomlin, it was not about Louie Giglio. It was about God’s grace given to us through Christ and the passion that His glory be made known by us, by our families, by our friends, by our campus, by our city, bu our country, by the world!
There is still more to be done, greater things are still to be done. We can’t do it. Not even the first step. God did it. He made “the first step” in Jesus. He will continue to move. Those things are going to be done by Him, and for Him, that His Holy Name may be glorified! Let us take part in God’s work, let us put our 5second flame into the eternal flame of Jesus! It is only His purpose that makes sense and so it will forever light up the world, in Jesus’ name!

I say this to all, as we pray for the Passion Conference Tour in Malaysia, let us also pray the next stops of the tour. May the passion for Jesus be spread to the ends of the earth!

To the staff of the tour, continue to bring back the glory to God! :) My prayers are with you!

TO GOD BE ALL GLORY, HONOR AND PRAISE!

  145. Jacqueline Says:

    >>no idea what i was thinking. i need to correct myself. Kristian Stanfill. I have no idea why I said Jonathan Stanfill. I don’t know the latter.

    Wow, wow, wow..

That was really crazy. all of us are crazy for God. crazy, really.

Awesome. Brilliant Creator. Jesus Messiah. Lord of all. WOW.

Last night was an unforgettable moment. Until now, i can’t fathom how God did it-gathering people from all parts of Manila (even places outside Manila, I know of someone who went all the way from Davao City).

The story of Ashley struck me most. It was touching, poignant and insightful. Now, I want to be a Krista. A Krista in my university, in my family and even in my church.

The sight and experience of praising and worshipping God with Chris Tomlin and Kristian Stanfill was a great priviledge. I can feel their intimacy with God as they sang it. Thank you for the wonderful and awesome worship.

Hey Mr. Louie, we will continue to pray for the team as you go to the nations and witness to young people.

    In Christ,
    Tatika Gail

  157. Merie Says:

    First off, WOW..
    Second, AMAZING..
    Third, GREAT…
hahaha.. i can’t seem to find enough words..YOU GUYZ just CAUSED OUR INSANITY LAST NIGHT!!!

The alphabet isn’t enough to describe how overwhelming, how changing, HOW GREAT IS OUR GOD!!! DAKILA ANG DIYOS. Last night was a changing night. A night that changed my whole life. As I entered the arena, I felt like crying because after all the odds I have to face just to get in that arena, and yes, i was able to make it. NO REGRETS because I know it was HIM who brought my feet there. I doubt if you’ll ever had the chance to read this after this heaps of comments (just proves what Christ have done last night)… I’m a living testimony and product of this Passion. I’m not someone like Ashley nor someone like fruitcake Krista, I’m somewhere the 2 meets. You see, I’m a youth ministry leader but not functional. I’ve been lagging, i’ve been doing things i should not. But last night, I again affirmed – YES LORD – let His will be done, no more BUTS no more excuses, hey HOW CAN I REFUSE TO SOMEONE LIKE WHAT? LORD OF LORDS!!! So there, tomorrow (Sunday) when you guyz are preparing for PASSION KL, i will be with YU2G (Youth Unlimited to GOD) and gonna share what GOD through Passion had done to me,. I was supposed to come with our youth ministry but unfortunately they have night classes and not to mention the exams they have. So I ended up coming with 2 companions only, but again NO REGRETS.

GOD OF THE CITY – if there’s someone who’s not losing hope that Philippines would get out of the pit where it is in,, it is me and the song GOD OF THE CITY made me cry because I KNOW GOD WILL DO GREATER THINGS in THIS CITY. I have been always praying for my beloved country and thanks to Passion now, not only Filipinos are praying but the whole world. Philippines is a promised land and He will surely do GREATER THINGS… I just love the song…

CHRIS TOMLIN – wow, I worshiped and praised with HIM woooow… It’s just that I love his songs and how his songs contain the greatness of GOD…

Ptr. Louie thank you. Thank you so much for sharing that verse in Corinthians. My mentor had always been mentioning this to us but it was your preaching through Ashley and Fruitcake that I got struck by it. Thank you…

and God bless your Church (soon) please tell Chris if he wants my contact nos. any time soon so he can already pay for my air fare.. :D

and yes continue serving him and traveling across the globe FOR HIS RENOWN!

thank you London for praying for Passion Manila. You really prayed well and KL get ready to rock for Christ. I’m/we’re praying for you… I still have the wrist strap on my right hand. If this could only be a plane ticket and the pass to Passion KL I would love to go… :D

MY GOD IS MIGHT TO SAVE!!!

ooops looks like i’ve posted a blog entry in here.. Sorry. I got carried away.

  158. Merie Says:

btw, of course thank you to Kristian Stanfill – i’m currently googling for your songs and lyrics.. I love ‘em too…

  159. Kaye Sy-Catral Says:

i have never cried reading comments on a blog, except for now.

Louie, isn’t it crazy how everyone posting from the Philippines calls you PASTOR Louie? have been reading your blog since i last heard you talk (over at the Rennaisance during GMA Week in Nashville back in April) and have been looking forward to a post on Manila. have also been praying for your future church in Atlanta (can’t wait to go and attend worship, which i know will be just awesome, with you speaking and Chris singing… that would be like being at a Passion event every week!!!) so it just puts a smile to my face that God has reinforced His calling for you (with all these kids calling you Pastor). :)

i must say that i have been truly blessed to have been part of the conference here in Manila. last night was just… CRAZY! God is God of this City! it is time he claims back all that is truly His. when Chris sang God of this City the second time last night, and all of Philsports sang along with him, i just felt this wave of peace come over me — an assurance that my kids and the future generation will come to know God because of what happened last night. :)

thank you so much for coming and allowing us to be part of your World Tour. we will be praying for KL and for the rest of legs 2 and 3. Happy Birthday again to Shelley, and snaps to all of you at Passion for touching lives.

    God is Great!

KAYE from VCF Greenhills/ House of Praise/ BMI :)

^^^ oh and JACOB (Summs), your sister’s life has touched so many Filipinos (and millions more around the world). i want God to use me just like He is still using her — I WANT JESUS TO BE MADE FAMOUS IN MY LIFE.

  160. Michelle W Says:

    Dear Mr. Louie,

    Hi:)

My name is Michelle Woest and I’m a Gr.11 student at high school Randburg in Gauteng,South Africa.I just recently heard that you will be here at Gallagher Estate on the 9th of August and I am so excited I’m beside myself.I would just like to share with you a piece of my story so that you can understand my request.

I am the CSV leader at my school. The CSV is like the Christian ministry within schools in S.A. I became a leader last year and I was so excited for I knew this is where God wants me and I know how desperately God wants Randburg back and the kids to turn to Him. The kids at my school are so hungry for God,they want to know Him personally and long for that intimate relationship. But these kids don’t know how because they don’t see it at home or even at church.I am so lucky for I grew up in a house where my dad was the head of the house and truly serves God. My parents are fulltime in a ministry called CBMC- Called in Business to Minister Christ so I guess you could say my brother and I are to :) Since I was little my parents have lived what they preached and taught me how to have a personal relationship wit God. I have been so blessed for now I stand independently in a day-to-day relationship with my Father Jesus Christ.I too have received confirmation about my calling for the ministry of youth. a Ministry of compassion and love. I want to be a youthcampfacilitator as well as the worship leader where high school kids as well as college students come to my camp for a week where they will also receive training on how to do outreaches. Then I want to take these teens on outreaches in to Africa to not only bring people to Christ and serve them with basic necessities, but to take them further…I want to give people the “tools” to build a personal relationship with God for I feel that being saved just isn’t enough. I don’t want to do good work but “Godly” work. I live to be Gods hands and feet and to practise servant leadership. I want people to see by my actions that I serve Christ not by extensive knowledge of the word. I just wanted to share where I am coming from.

Since last year I have been praying for my school and the headmaster and we’ve been trying to establish the CSV within the school. We’ve hit bump after bump and things just didn’t happen.I grew weary and demotivated for I felt that who am I? I am only a Gr.11 student who doesn’t really matter in the school…but at that moment God came and freed me from the expectation of seeing results, I realized that it doesn’t matter who I am for it isn’t me who is going to do the work. I need to trust God and know that all I have to do is be patient and obedient. That is all God is asking for. He isn’t asking me to move the mountain,He’s just asking me to believe that He can. That’s when God gave me the scripture of Matt. 5 where God says: ” you are blessed when you are at the end of your rope. With less of you there is more of God and His rule.”

I realised that I am at the end of my rope but now God will work trough me and use me as a tool.I saw it as I was a pipe full of myself….but now that I have been unblocked the living water of Christ can flow straight through me onto the people.

Finally when I totally surrendered God made a breakthrough.I’ve been asking forever to be able to show your Indescribable DVD to the kids in the hall. The headmaster finally agreed and we showed it to the whole school last Tuesday. Mr Louie I cant even describe what happened that morning. When you showed that image of the cross in the whirlpool galaxy there was a silence in that hall like we have never heard. I felt Gods hand on the hall and afterwards God gave me the right words.Since that morning so many kids have come to tell me how much it meant to them and the “troublemaking” kids have been asking me allot of questions like how to talk to God and when;what certain bible verses mean etc. I am soooooooo amazed. We are now going to show How great is our God next week and I cant wait to see what God is going to do.

So here I am taking a risk…and I know this is a big favour but my God is big enough(huge understatement). I really feel strongly about this and it is heavy on my heart.Mr Louie I want to know whether you would be willing to come talk at my school while you are here in S.A. I watched your Hope DVD last night and felt that, that is the message Randburg needs.I feel that this is something I have to do.Would you please consider it and then pray about it. I will continue praying that if this is in Gods plan that it will happen….if not then hey :) I gave it a shot and feel I am being obedient.

Thank you so much for taking the time to read this. I pray that God will bless you and your family for what you do and how you have touched my life.

    Blessings and love in Christ

To the Passion Crew & Louie Giglio,

Blessings from our Lord & Savior Jesus Christ! What a divine time it was last night. Me, my church mates & family were all so blessed that you came. What a timely message you gave, that we really can only say “Yes” to the Lord. Actually I was in vacation here in Manila just in time for the conference! I am now based in Japan, and have been praying for the Youth there for quite some time now. One interesting thing I learned there is “Jesus” is spelled with the same characters in Japanese Katakana as the word “Yes” So it is like saying: “Iesu” Kirisuto = “Yes” Christ! For me it is no coincidence, Japan is for Jesus! You guys bringing Passion to Tokyo will be a great encouragement to the Christian Youth there! I will continue praying for the tour, and will be joining you @ the CC Lemon Hall in October! God Bless you more & more & more…

Thank you sooo much for coming to Manila! We watched “How Great Is Our God” and “Indescribable” on DVDs recently in our Youth Fellowship and we were ecstatic to come the Passion when we found out you were stopping by!!! (Even underage and overage people decided to come!)

We sat far from the stage, but from where we were, we sang, praised, hollered like there was no tomorrow! We were really blessed with the whole conference.

I will never ever forget this opportunity. I never expected to actually hear AND see you live. Praise the Lord!!!

  184. King Louie Says:

    Mr Louie Giglio,

me and my bestfriend went their in passion in manila with no ticket. We went their by faith. All we know is we will go their, eventhough we know that the tickets were sold out, but it never stop us in hearing the word, and worshipping Jesus.. Because I know too that deep within me, There is something that will happen, and I dont want to miss it! So we did!We went their 11 am, tried to talked to aimee but she said that the best suggestion that she can give us is to wait for the people wha has an excess ticket.. We waited for approximately 3-4 hours until somebody whom we approached and talked with has a friend/churchmates who has an excess ticket that He will not use because He is a volunteer. So we already have one… Just one more.. Around, 5pm (not so sure), we begin to fall in line… But we only have one ticket.. I told mark that I already saw you in dvds (indescribable and how great), and he better has the ticket. But he insisted that I am the one who really liked to go.. So I wore the ticket(wrist).. we are still waiting for the one ticket during the queue… But finally, my friend irish, has her friend who has an excess ticket, and I bought it to her… WE were so happy and amazed that time! How great God is!He was moved by our faith! And we were so happy… remember the picture inside that posted their.. The one who wearing the red stripes, that’s me.. and the one who jumped in back of me is my bestfriend.. who just became born again a month ago… I was amazed!I was borg again-again!I was caught by his grace! Its all about the grace, the grace and the grace! Its all about putting my life’s 5 seconds in God’s eternal fire.. making Him known, glorified and be exalted.I graduated from Spirit Life Bible College, and I will be in davao this march.. Be mentored by Our Senior youth pastor. and by next year, or after 1 and 1/2 year. We will be pioneering a youth church in manila. One of the vision that God gave and still burning in my heart is that; there will be revival and revolution in every universities in manila! That manila is God’s!That God is the God in this city!He is!I will die for it!I llove this city so much, as our Father is so inlove with it!

  197. rlin_e Says:

I’m not gonna say I didn’t know what hit us last night here in Manila because I definitely know that it was the hand of our Beautiful Jesus, our Dakilang Diyos, who was just stroking our heads and patting us on the back saying, “I have chosen you and I’m with you all the way!”

I’ve always prayed for Passion to reach us here and God always has His ears on our prayers. WE’RE DECLARING THAT MANILA IS NOW A CITY OF FRUITCAKES!!!

Please come back and see the fruits of what you have initiated!

  198. Nelo Says:

GLORY TO GOD!… its so amazing how we did not see Chris, Louie or the whole PASSION TEAM being glorified.. but we did see them usher us to SEE JESUS MORE, to FEEL JESUS MORE, to get DEEPER into WORSHIP, to GLORIFY JESUS and to make JESUS FAMOUS here in MANILA.

The whole technical effects was great, but again, it did not sway us from really focusing on the purpose of the event… its definitely not an ordinary concert but a spirit filled – CHRIST centered PRAISE AND WORSHIP. HA.. LLE.. LU.. JAH!!!!

It is my prayer, that all of us, FILIPINOs, who sang that song GOD OF THIS CITY live passionately to be a light and salt just like the story.. the story of ASHLEY and (all of us be) “FRUITCAKE”.. may we “get it”, catch and carry the burden to make JESUS RENOWN not just here in MANILA, not only in the Philippines but to the Ends of the Earth.

PASSION TEAM.. may the GOD almighty prosper you in all things, may He humble you always.

O by the way, Louie, many of us Christians here in the Philippines do listen from your PASSION PODCAST, your VIDEOS, MUSIC.. We maybe a minority but we are a lover of GOD.. that is why are onlookers for a true movement for JESUS. Id say there are more than 7,000+ filipinos that would say we are one with you.

    Jesus Reign!!!!

  215. barbie from australia Says:

Hi Louie and all the passion team, listened to the podcast last night late, and now just reading some of the comments from lovers of God who were at the Manilla passion night wow!! Thanks again, so much for being who God has called you to be, for not shrinking back and thinking it all too hard. When God is in it, no matter how hard it may appear, it is easy, as His yoke is easy and His burden is light and He is the One who gives rest to our souls. I love you guys and girls and know one day in glory (if not in Sydney) I will be able to worship the One who made everything including us, together for all eternity. He is worthy of the praise and adoration of the whole globe and I thank you again for making it a little easier for young (and not so young) people to lift their hearts and voices and whole beings and give Him just a little of the worship He deserves. To Jesus Christ be all glory, honour and praise, forever and ever. Love you all. Hanging out for Sydney!

  216. mel Says:

WOW! Louie – Can you tell that we have all been waiting anxiously for the second leg of this tour? I can’t believe how many comments there are! :) We really are there right along with you, even if our bodies are not present. You do such a great job at describing each event for us and including us in this story. Thank you so much for all that you do and then all you do on top of all you do.

I am so excited to hear about Manila and what a blessing to my soul it was to hear them all singing with no music and no leader except the One True leader! Each time you record the small sound bites from each city, whether it be the singing or the shouts, I can’t help but get goosebumps and end up with tears streaming down my face. Praise the Lord as the wave grows and He is made more and more famous with each city. Thank you for saying YES and for believing that our God is who He says He is and can do what He says He can do!! Still praying for the next stops on this leg and looking so forward to the next blogs and podcasts to come!

  218. Genine Says:

Hi Passion Team! I came to Passion with a heavy heart—bored with LIFE, a sleeping Christian. I grew up in a Christian family, ’spiritual’ jargon was normal in life but I could never say that I knew Christ. I became a real Christian last October 2004 but my journey has been rough–always on the lukewarm side. However, when I entered the gates of the Philippine Sports Arena, I did not feel guilt nor a burden that I was a very very bad person. [Maybe the effect of your awesome prayers, London!] Something was telling me that God loves me no matter what I do or what person I become. Surprisingly, this is what Louie talked about when he shared Ashley’s story. Her life story struck my heart, and now I will always bury this Truth in my heart: it is by God’s Grace that I am His daughter and princess.

My friend and I were in line for 2++ hours but my tired body did not stop me from giving my BEST to God during worship. I shall never forget this event of spiritual awakening. Thanks Mr. Giglio, Chris Tomlin and the Band, Kristian Stanfill and the amazing people behind this awesome conference!!

    YES, LORD!!!! <3

  219. Rodrigo Says:

As much as I like reading other people’s comments, I simply cannot go through all of them! Man, 200+ comments! I’d have to sit here all day long… lol! There’s no doubt God was there! :-)

I loved hearing the podcast. I’m so happy to know that the wave keeps growing! I can still feel the enthusiasm I felt in Passion Sao Paulo.

May our great God turn all this excitement we ‘re all feeling into lives that trully live for His glory and renown above all things.

My heart is filled with joy for everything the Lord is doing. I’m so glad for you, Filipinos!

KL, be ready! You too will never be the same!

    Let God arise!!!!

    Love,

    Rodrigo – Sao Paulo, Brazil

PS: This month is the Youth month in my church, and I pray the Lord will stir our hearts up as well (as we’ll have lot’s of special things going on… but none of them matters if God doesn’t come through). So, if anyone ends up reading this, please, remember to pray for us as well. Thanks!

  220. Carlo Says:

  225. Ginalyn Vega Says:

    wow wow wow wow wow

yes indeed, God moved so mightily during the passion conference last friday night. i should say that until now i have an aftershock, i can’t seem to move on about the conference..

anyway, i want to share my story on how i got to the ultra that night.

monday of that week, i attended our youth service (a fellowship sponsored by the UP-Students of Destiny Los Baños) and guess what, we watched the How Great is our God preaching of Mr. Louie Giglio. and just about last year i have watched his Indescribable preaching. and my Lord, those two preachings were crazy cool!! you should hear those, if you haven’t heard of them.

so the rest of the week, i wasn’t really paying interest to the passion conference but not until friday, the conference day, noon. i tell you, it was so of God that i met a kuya who is going to manila to attend the conference. and i just felt that i should also go, even though i still have classes in the afternoon.

and so we went to manila, a 3-4hour trip from laguna, (my kuya has his ticket already but i still don’t have the ticket, because all the tickets were sold out), in faith and with faith. i just know in my heart that we will be able to go in AND we did.

(there were four civilians near the entrance who sell their tickets to us) praise God for those tickets!

well, the experience was so overwhelming.. Louie was right, that it’s not about them, the place, or whatsoever, but it’s about a name, a name above all other names — JESUS!!!!!

and for this nation, i declare God over us! We belong to him.

and for KL, we are praying for you.

    worship the ONE TRUE GOD!

declare his NAME and RENOWN to the ends of the earth.

to Him belongs the glory forever and forever!!

  226. jhayps Says:

    YES LORD!!!!!! =)
    KEEP THE FIRE BURNING!!!!!!!

  227. Martin Says:

and to KL: we’re praying for you. :)

    to LONDON: thank you.

  228. vhie07 Says:

    that was a wonderful event.
i thank God for He allowed me to be there and I didn’t miss that chance.

There’s always a reason for everything and God do so.

Actually, I’m not familiar with this and their songs before, but as I heard it one by one, I really appreciated it. And now, I’m crazy!!!

listening over and over most especially
    God of this city.

I know that God has a plan for this country.

I was also astonished with the Filipino youth worshipping God and especially my churchmates,

    this is indescribable!

There is no one like pur God!!!

    I won’t forget it!!!

    :))

    God bless u more.
and Blessed be thy God!! :))

It was entitled “How Great is our God” and I swear, I cried buckets and buckets of tears at how great the Lord really was and how you guys beautifully delivered the message! I especially loved that part about LAMININ!!! I couldn’t stop crying after that! Thinking about it just made me realize hoow God just really holds us together and it’s such a great, great, great feeling!

He has indeed done great things for us, and it’s true, we’ve been sitting around for too long. Now, it’s time to say: YES, LORD!

a man can only cry so much,
but i cried buckets last friday.

the Lord has indeed been good to me but i keep overlooking those little blessings. i guess i just needed to be reminded every once in a while.

    thanks, Passion team!

God has been exponentially awesome to all of you and i praise Him for your willingness to share what He’s done in your lives. people like you just make serving Him really amazing. your passion to win the lost and conquer the world for JESUS just rubs off on everyone you come across.

    Praise God!

between worrying about whether i’m stepping on somebody’s foot and just pouring out my all for the Lord, i was reminded what real service was like. by the time we sang God of this City for the first time i was crying like crazy. wow!

JESUS is definitely the God of this city; He is the God of this country and this world and the whole entire universe. You are just amazing, Lord!

fellow Filipino Christians, we all need to go crazy for God! so many souls to bring to Him, so little time. we’ve got our work cut out for us, let’s give it our 150%!!!

Kuala Lumpur, you have our prayers. i know that God will work through you guys the way He blessed us last friday. let’s win the world for Him! God bless you!

Passion Team, a simple comment on this wonderful blog won’t mean much, but rest assured that you are all being super-loved right now. SALAMAT for saying “Yes, Lord” when God called you to the ministry. i’m sure that leaving your families behind isn’t easy, but God has tons of really cool things in store for you when we finally go home to Him.

here’s to having a loud and crazy praise and worship service in Heaven for all of eternity!

    BALIK KAYO DITO!

    Dear Passion Team,

I never intended to go to the Passion Manila Conference, but I’m glad I did. My uncle, who was very close to me, died just a few days before you came and it seemed to me that all the pain just numbed away everything.

Being in the Conference showed me that God is still here… that He remains faithful and loving to me, and that there is much I am still to praise Him for.

Thank you for coming to Manila. May God continue to bless your team as you seek to make Jesus famous.

  241. Saki Says:

(by the way thank you for putting my solo picture!! i saw my picture in this website.. thank you so much..i was so shocked!!)

  260. Mark Alvin Berioso Says:

    Sir Louie,
I’m King Louie’s Bestfriend, the one who also posted a comment here…
yes indeed! we actually go to the concert without any assurance that we can get in, because we don’t have tickets that needed to be inside, and the only thing that we have is faith!
To be honest, sir louie, i just go to your concert for my bestfriend.. actually, couple of weeks prior to the event, my bestfriend keep on asking me if we could inquire and buy tickets for your concert.. but since, i dont have the interest to go the event, i also keep on telling to my bestfriend that, since it’s still early week of july, we could do it on some other day.. until, it was 3 days before when we actually decided to buy some tickets for your concert. unfortunately, by that time all tickets are SOLD-OUT!
i saw a disappointed face on my bestfriend that if we had inquire for the ticket as early as july, we could possibly have a ticket by that time…

i actually don’t know you sir louie nor haven’t heard of you before… but there’s in me that asking… WHY IS MY BESTFRIEND IS SO EAGER TO GO IN YOUR CONCERT AND WANT TO HEAR YOUR PREACHING IN PERSON?! So I told my bestfriend, WE WILL GOING TO THE CONCERT, YES WE DON”T HAVE TICKET BUT WE HAVE FAITH! but to be honest, i’m not really sure if we can get in…but there’s something my bestfriend told me, that strenthen more my faith! he told me, “Bes, i actually getting and strengthening my faith through you”—WE STRENGTHEN OUR FAITH THROUGH EACH OTHER!

On the Day of the concert… We go to the venue as early as 11am, that was more than 8hrs before the concert, we talked to the organizer and ask them that we are so CRAZY and DESPERATELY want to get in, but since we don’t have tickets and there is no more tickets to be sell, we ask them that we are willing to render our service, we could help in the preparation or even in packing up after just to have that chance to watch your concert… but aimee (Event Merchandiser) told us, as much as she want to, she can do anything about it, and suggested us that we can wait for those who have excess tickets.. by that time, i’m losing hope and starting to question my faith.. but everytime i looked to my bestfriend, i shouldn’t let him see that i’m losing hope, and it seems that we have the mutual feeling.. that we should hide those feeling to keep the CRAZY faith burning inside us…
Fortunately, god saw our Crazy Faith, so he sent CRAZY PEOPLE to give us their tickets FOR FREE!!! see how crazy their are! they bought the ticket for hundred fifty box and will just give it to us for FREE!! and not only that, we seated just infront of the stage for us to watch closely a CRAZY PREACHER with a CRAZY BAND praising and worshiping ONE CRAZY GOD!

    It was truly ONE CRAZY NIGHT! where i learnd so many Crazy Things like;
*Don’t lose your faith, believe and claim! have a CRAZY FAITH!
*Sing the song of worship, as if you are the one who write it and assume
that you are THE CRAZY CHRIS TOMLIN!
*If God want something from you, just be CRAZY to answer ‘YES LORD!’
*That No matter who you are or what you did, BE CRAZY to BELIEVE that
there is a GOD who will RECONCILE you and who will be CRAZY to bring
    you BACK!
*GOD is asking us to be used, for him to be famous, BE SO CRAZY in
    ANSWERING BACK ‘YES LORD!’
    * ITS COOL TO BE CRAZY ESP. IF YOU HAVE A CRAZY GOD!

I’m Glad that My Crazy Bestfriend Brought me in this CRAZY concert With a Crazy Preacher and the Crazy Band praising and worshiping one Crazy God… I’m happy that I’m Crazy to be a part of it!

    msg for Sir Louie;
just want you to know that you made me crazy! Now i know who LOUIE GIGLIO is.. I’m now one of the Billion people around the globe who is so crazy to hear you preach again the word of god! We actually starting to be crazy in looking for your other preachings in store, but sadly, the only CD’s that they have is about the passion.. we are so desperately want to have those other CD’s of your preaching… thats why i’ll make a crazy favor to you sir, if you could send us a copy of those preaching like indescribible, etc.. ^_^

  261. Jezreel Says:

    That night was truly indescribable!
I praise God for bringing Passion (together with Louie Giglio, Chris Tomlin, the Passion worship band, and kristian stanfill) to the Philippines.
I am not from Manila, but our 5-hour travel was very very much worth of what th Lord did. I’ve been in the church since birth, and has been in-love witht he Lord when I entered high school, but Passion Manila became no cliche to me. It was, for me, a very refreshing event. We really should choose to live telling a story that’s bigger than ourselves – a story of His renown.
I say YES to a 5-second life devoted & commited to the One who is indelible and eternal — Jesus Christ!

    “Dakilang Diyos
    Awitan ang Dakilang Diyos
    Awitin Natin,
    Dakila Ka, O Diyos”

if you know what you’re doing, then that’s not craziness.. true insanity is when you’re crazy about God.
these are not the exact words that he said though.
    thanks in advance!! ÜÜÜ

  285. Butch Says:

Until now I can still feel the flame of the message of Louie, that if we join our flame to the flame of GOd then it will be eternal :) We may do every thing we can but with out Jesus we are nothing. If we do it for Him then it will be a part of the greatest plan of the Father. My tears start to fall when we are about to end the by 11pm in Philsports Arena, when we started to sing a song of Chris Tomlin. He was about to go but because all of us are singing his song he remained on the stage and give two more songs. I know that the place was book only till 11pm but we end up at 11:30 or almost 12 mid night. We just cant get enough of the anointing from God. I truly believed that God is doing something to our nation. The Philippines is truly blessed to have Louie and the whole passion team. Thanks so much and God bless us all!

  286. Timo Says:

Wow! dat was a great concert, when all seems to fade away, and there’s only one person who stands out, one name who is to be glorified, JESUS! JESUS! JESUS!
Thank you for bringing this fire here in Manila, you started an awesome thing, and as you say (i really think this is your favorite word anyway) CRAZY! hehe.

  293. Macki Says:

It was an awesome night to remember where thousands of Filipino people joined in to give renown to Lord of Lords and the King of kings. It was such an amazing night in which have strucked me in every way down to the very strand of my being. I have been praying that God will move and heal this barren land. And indeed, God has been faithful that very night. People got the message of being a living sacrifice…living our 5 second life for the God of this universe. Hallelujah. Truth is, I have just pursued the calling that God revealed to me.. and that is to lead worship like what you guys are doing. To make his name famous and with all renown. And I have been really scared, but after today.. after what I have just experienced. I have been inspired to continue on. Godbless you people, you have changed the views of thousands of Filipinos like me. I’m proud to say that I’m a “FRUITCAKE”.. In behalf of our worship team from Come To Jesus Lagro, we thank and praise God for everything, for you guys and for His eternal grace and mercy.

  294. Vercel Sotelo - TBC Says:

It’s August the 4th but am still overwhelmed by last Friday’s (re)encounter with the Lord through the Passion Conference!!! Praise God indeed!

I came to the event crushed by guilt and sin. I came home refreshed, restored, revived, and challenged. God is really an awesome God! And yes, I got His message and I have embraced it the moment I raised my hands in surrender.

Truly, greater things are yet to come and greater things are still to be done in our country. Thanks for the spark! I pray we will be able to get the fire going until He returns to take us home.

To Louie, Chris, Kristian and the rest of the team, I speak blessing to all of you! Keep the fire burning! Keep the passion alive! All for God’s glory!

  296. Jemimah dela Rosa Says:

I originally said comin to your concert was a big mistake because that night, I had a lot of things in my mind. But God used your whole team to rebuke me, and now, after the experience that Friday night, COMING TO YOUR CONCERT IS THE BEST CHOICE I HAVE MADE THAT WEEK, and one of the great choices I have made in my life.

Thank you for being God’s instruments.

  297. Jemimah dela Rosa Says:

I do hope your team will come back again to do another Passion event, so I can invite my officemates and my friends. :)

    Mabuhay ang mga fruitcake!

  301. Abie Reyes Says:

i’m quite late to post a comment in here.
but i would still want to, coz up to now my heart is overflowing with joy.
i was so blessed with the event – the worship, the message and the fellowship. the message was like a wake-up call for me. while Ptr. Louie Giglio was sharing us the story of Ashley, i can’t help but ask myself “what am i doing with the time i have left? if i am to die, would my life be like Ashley’s who, up to now, is changing other people’s lives?”
i’m a sophomore student of the University of the Philippines – Diliman and it has been my longtime desire to have a campus ministry in UP. i was so blessed when i saw a lot of UP students [wearing UP jackets and lanyards] in the concert and felt that my desire would not be far from happening. i’m still wearing the wristband from the concert and plan to do so till the end of the week so that the students who went in the concert might see me wearing it and approach me to start a campus ministry. i’m excited! :D

thank you, passion team, for listening to God’s command and coming here in the Philippines to bless us. you will always be in my prayers. :D

“i want my life to count in a story that’s bigger than me…”

mwahness!!! have a great time praising Jesus for the rest of your tour…

  304. Avel Jaime Says:

    Hi Louie!

This is my second message to you since Y2001.
Remember when I asked you to bring Passion Movement in our nation?
I thank you for fulfilling your promise.
I was there…just 3 rows in front of the stage… Please don’t get mad if I was there even if the conference was for college students.
I was with my lovely wife.. (yes I already am married with 3 kids =)
I waited too long for this to happen. Finally it did…It just didn’t happen years before…
I wanted to thank God so much for answering my prayers…for letting the Filipino people experience the beauty of God

I pray that you can come back with the whole Passion Group and possibly do a larger gathering in the tradition of Oneday in a much bigger venue.

We’ll pray for the church you’ll be planting in the US… I will also be praying for the church you will plant here in the Philippines, I know it’s not far.. I can see it coming… coz nothing is impossible with God.

We’ll pray for your other destinations…May they proclaim God victorious in their cities as well.

    Avel Jaime

  305. Sarah Says:

I was at the concert last august 1 at ULTRA and I can’t contain the passion that is burning in my heart until now… I can really say this concert has been a turning point to my Christian life. It is now that I totally said “YES” to Jesus! and I’m going to live for his name and His renown. Thank you so much Ptr. Louie Giglio, Chris Tomlin and your band and Kristian Stanfill and your band. We’ll continue to pray for you. You’ve been a blessing to us… ^_^

  306. hazel S. Says:

hmmm.. Passion here at Manila was one of the amazing thing that happened to me this year. I’ve seen young people., in different status in life came in one reason and one purpose, to praise, to worship and make Jesus famous here in the PHILIPPINES. This is not just about the music like Chris Tomlin says we came for JESUS!! I’ve seen not just few but a lot and more Christians stand up and share the Gospel to those who are still lost. I have to admit that I wanted to quit in sharing ‘coz i thought still nothing happens. But now I am more eager to make JESUS famous not just to my generation but also to the next generation.

PLSSSS… come back again here in MANILA, and I promise to bring more bunch of CRAZY people. THANKS AGAIN for sharing your passion with us. And makes us Crazier even more…

oh and I want to be a FRUITCAKE to others also…=)

Thank you and we’re praying for you guys. GOD BLESS!

  310. windawin Says:

    Hi Passion Team!

I just want to thank you for coming here in the Philippines. I believe many young people were encouraged.

I was really touched and blessed by what Ptr. Louie had shared that I almost cried. It serves as an inspiration to us, to be a FRUITCAKE to those people who haven’t known Jesus yet…Even during the praise n’ worship, I was also blessed.

May God bless you as you continue to spread the good news in every nation.

  311. Amanda - History Maker Says:

i will just like to say that your passion conference really made a lot of impact for our youth…

we have a youth fellowship every first friday, and since this event conincided with your talk we decided that we would move our fellowship to your event. giving it an amp title of: HISTORY MAKERS GOES TO ULTRA! HAHAHA.. :))
    [we're like a sideshow..]

needless to say, we were really amped up because of your word, and it really inspired the whole of us to really go out there and win souls for God….

i first saw your video during an encounter retreat with “indescribable” being the title, and i personally like to thank you because it really got me to see that our God is really big… :)

  312. Mary-Ann J. Dulohan Says:

    Mabuhay!!!

    Passion Manila is really amazing!!
Before I’m asking why do people raise their hands and cry whenever a song is played on our church.I was like,Hey!Are these people crazy??
I finally realized it during the whole night of Passion Manila Conference.

I can also see Chris Tomlin & Kristian Standfil (with their respective bands) the humbleness of their heart..

I’m very happy & blessed to be there last August 1,2008..

God bless you all Passion Team!!
I’m always praying for the fulfillment of your mission & vision in the name of Holy Jesus!!

Awesome!!! Absolutely awesome. God is great! He is so great. We’ve been praying for revival here in the Philippines and we believe that this is the beginning of that revival. Thank you guys for being here in Manila. God is doing mighty things everywhere. Tears flowed as I saw thousands of youth and different ages praising and worshipping God. Touched by the Ashley journal. Nothing is impossible to God. I can see myself in Ashley and am so grateful of God’s patience to me and that brings me to repentance. Now, after being an Ashley, let’s be a Fruitcake for God!
Soli Deo Gloria!!! To God alone be the glory!!!

    To Passion Team,

I’m so much blessed at the Passion Manila Concert. Thank you Louie for your passion for Jesus Christ. Thanks for the family of Ashley for sharing her diary. Thanks to Chris & Kristian and the bank for the music, and for the rest of the team for the success of Passion Manila. To God be the Glory!

I came over from the office that night and I can’t take any transportation going to ULTRA because of the heavy rain. It took me 2hrs queing and waiting for the taxi and van in Megamall. Would you believe it is already near ULTRA. But Praise God I still continue to go to the concert. I arrived at ULTRA at around 9pm. I still heard the last song of Kristian before Louie Giglio’s preaching. But Praise God! I was so much blessed. God is so Amazing. So Awesome.

Passion is not only for the youth but for all generation. I’m already 43yrs old but I still love the music of Passion most especially Chris Tomlin’s songs.

I was wearing my wristband since this morning.

God bless you more… Hope you’ll come back to Philippines…

after the long hours of queuing under the stormy skies that day just to get inside the Arena was all worth it because I got a lot from this conference…i was so awestrucked with the presence of God in that place that night…I have never seen young Filipinos gathered in one accordance under HIs name to glorify and praise His Most Holy Name….Revelations after revelations came up to me that night…I know that it was not an accident why this conference took place…God has somehing in store for our country, in our nation, in this city…i was also amazed by the song,God of This City, which brought me into tears…God did really moved in that place….i Über enjoyed it…I think what i paid for is not enough to replace what i got from the conference….i thank you Mr. Louie Giglio for sharing the true Passion that us, youths, should have in our hearts…the same Passion that Jesus did for us on the Cross..i also wanna thank Mr. Chris Tomlin and Kristian Stanfil for sharing to us their music which brought a sweet smelling aroma of praises to our Father in Heaven…Jesus rocked Manila and I pray that the same thing or even greater things will happen in your next stop..KUALA LUMPUR!!!!

  325. Blaise Joshua N. Morales Says:

Phew. I feel really blessed this week. And just as the music moved me, Krista’s story touched me to the heart. God has been reassuring me that I can be a light to the world.

I’m still wearing the wristband. Hehe. Can you believe it? It’s water proof.

  327. pyraphoe Says:

    hi there!

louie: i sat on my crisis counseling class the next day… looking at video clip “wines and roses” and i still think about the “YES, LORD” phrase and still enjoying the newness of the air I am breathing… [sad to say, we don't have podcast here... i can't access it]

chris: i am amazed how you were formed… western by blood but i think asian in stature… amazingly nice! and the way you stood on the stage ~ you emanate sincerity and total dependence on HIM!

so when is your team coming back????????? make it soon please!!!!!!!!!!

  328. Gracie Says:

“My chains are gone… I’ve been set free. My God, my Savior has ransomed me…”

It really is amazing to receive God’s grace… and with that song, I am determined once again to live up to my name… be a channel of God’s amazing “grace”.

It was a magnificent, amazing, wonderful, extravagant (though the ticket was not so) experience, that Passion Concert night!

I’m already a fan of Chris Tomlin and his songs … and Passion’s too… way, way back before this concert and was kinda disappointed when I first learned that this event was for 15-22 years old ONLY. But glory to God! It was opened, at last, for all ages…. whether I’m younger or older than the age bracket, I won’t say, make your guess…. :-) Anyway, it was really a great blessing to sing to Chris Tomlin’s songs LIVE! along with thousands of worshippers. Indeed, our God is an Amazing God!

“How can I keep from singing Your praise? How can I ever say enough, how amazing is Your love? How can I keep from shouting Your name? I know I am loved by the King and it makes may heart want to sing…”

    Grace

  329. kai Says:

HOw great is our GOd!!! i was so blessed with the many rcaes of KL that gathered together to praise our one Almighty God…. :) Truly, there is just one God and He alone deserves the glory!

**all false prophets are powerless In Jesus’ Name!

Let’s pray for the salvation of the deceived please… they worship and praise the wrong god, thinking it is our Jesus that they are enthroning… sigh….

  330. kitz Says:

It was really a blessing that I was able to go the concert. I was suppose to have work til 11 pm last Friday but 2 days before the concert there have been changes in my work schedule and I was able to go home from work at 4:30 pm.

I guess the Lord really wanted me to be there. I felt that I was one of those people that London were praying for to be there at Passion Manila. It was a great feeling to sing and worship the Lord along with other young people in the Phil Sports Arena. It was also also surprising at how despite a lot of the songs were new to us we were able to sing along with them in tune. I somehow miss singing and dancing for the Lord in corporate worship since I am not able to go to church every Sunday because of my work. But through this concert I realized that my worship and service to God doesn’t stop in church, and that my work can be an opportunity for me to do greater things for His name. I know that He placed me where I am for a purpose and that He will use me to be a blessing to other people like how Krista was used to touch the life of Ashley. I was really blessed by their story. I was reminded of God’s great love and grace for us, and that no one is too messed up to be changed by God. Thanks for sharing their story with us! It was really inspiring.

The concert had been a wonderful experience. I felt that God really worked in the lives of every youth that were present in the event. To Passion Team, thank you for sharing your lives with us. God bless you in your ministry! Hope to see you again in Manila!

  331. CROSSGEN Says:

THOUSANDS OF YOUNG PEOPLE REJOICED, JUMPED, AND WORSHIPPED WITH YOU GUYS…THOUGH REJOICING IN JESUS FOR WHAT HE HAS DONE BUT THERE WAS SADNESS IN OUR HEARTS BECAUSE WE WERE NOT ABLE TO JOIN THAT TREMENDOUS EVENING OF WORSHIP BECAUSE ALL TICKETS WERE SOLD OUT!!! WE’RE ALMOST 90 KILOMETERS AWAY FROM MANILA AND WE WERE HOPING TO BUY TICKETS AT THE VENUE. HAAAHH…SAD TO SAY NOT A SINGLE TICKET WAS AVAILABLE. SOOO…WE’RE PRAYING FOR GOD’S FAVOR THAT YOU WILL VISIT THE PHILIPPINES AGAIN AND HAVE A WORSHIP EVENING AT CLARK EXPO FILIPINO HERE IN ANGELES CITY, PAMPANGA. THERE ARE LOTS OF YOUNG PEOPLE HERE THAT SING YOUR SONGS DURING WORSHIP. PLEASE CONSIDER PRAYING FOR IT BECAUSE WE ARE PRAYING FOR THIS. GOD BLESS YOUR HEART MORE OF JESUS.

  332. karen Says:

    am still wearing the band!
it reinds me of how God moved in Ultra last friday.
    God bless you Passion!

  333. Chelsea Mae Pangilinan-CSB Says:

HAHA!!! Yeah… Hope they will come back here in the Philippines with other singers `round. And of course, WITH LOUIE GIGLIO. Everything will be boring without his presence and of course, everything will be boring WITHOUT JESUS` PRESENCE.

  334. LA Says:

what a way to start the month!
    truly an unforgettable night.
thank you for sharing with us your music
    and the word of God.

  335. Elise Says:

    To the Passion Team:
You guys are indeed a blessing from God! That one evening reawakened and blessed a lot of souls, mine included. Thank you very much for sharing yourselves, your gift of music, your gift of words, and most especially, the gift of Ashley’s testimony, which truly touched me. :) God bless you and your continuous journey with God. :)

  336. Charles R. Says:

God is definitely the God of the city of Manila! It was a very nice (rainy) night to praise our God led by Christ Tomlin and Kristian Stanfill. Um, it would be nice to see one day some people from Manila worshipping together with… the Brazilians in Sao Paolo! now that would be really noisy. I pray that all the cities that the Passion World Tour will pass through will have the same success as it is here in Manila and in other cities.

btw, The bracelet-like thingy that had Passion Manila and Passion KL on the other side, I didn’t remove it until Monday morning. I’ll read the thread about it after I submit this comment.

God Bless! I do hope you’ll pass by Manila again one day. :)

hi! i’m so overwhelmingly blessed and moved by PASSION Manila!!! it’s true that we really have to take Jesus by His word and say YES to Him no matter what the circumstances are, denying ourselves and to trust Him FULLY, no excuses, no delays, no other motivations, simply out of pure love for Him…

i hope we christians will not take this as just another christian event where we were touched by the music, moved by a wonderful message and inspired by the other christians overnight.. let’s take this as far as where it can take us, to continue to fan the flame in us, to share and reflect JESUS in EVERY area of our lives…

let’s continue making a difference in the world, making ourselves be a part of the Great Commission. Jesus is with us, a constant help, a friend indeed..

God bless each one of us!!

I’m sure glad I did come that night =) GOD is awesome and truly work in woderful ways… Louie’s preaching about the life of Ashley is a timely testimony for the young generations of today. I was personally touched by the story and in my heart I wanted to reach more Ashley in this generation :)

I speak forth blessings upon your ministry as you continue to spread the heat and the passion about loving JESUS. I pray that God will continue to use your ministry in a greater & higher level, more than you can ever imagine.

Praise be to God for bringing the Passion Team here in our country. Ever since i had my first Passion CD a long time ago, i’ve been asking God to bring your team here.

Just want to share my testimony.

The week before the event, i was diagnosed with a problem with my gall bladder, and the doctor suggested that it should be removed. I had a hard time believing that. I felt that somehow, God was letting me down. Fast forward to the conference, i was having a wonderful time worshipping and when Chris and the band broke into the song, Your Grace Is Enough, tears just came rolling down. I felt God’s hand comforting me, and talking to me through that song.

May God continue to touch lives through your team. God bless.

And to Chris, love your red guitar man! (GAS!)

  346. Paulo :D Says:

it has been [what, 4 days??] since the concert..
[which was my first ever concert to attend to, by the way]
and i’m still thrilled with the thought of worshiping God that night
    with thousands of people…

i am really thankful for the passion team for organizing such an event..
God is indeed working through this generation… :D

I prayed for the Malaysians [which I thought was crazy, since I never know them... anyone of them..] and I believe God was also in your KL concert last Sunday night..

    God is the best…
    Now i’m a fruitcake. ^^

  347. Mark Says:

WOW! Better to post this comment late than never! 08012008 is a blessed day for Manila. I’m so proud of the filipino youth praising and worshipping Jesus like no other. May God continue to extend his kingdon here in the Philippines through Christian youth! Love God, love people, love our country and make HIM known!

To Passion team: We will keep praying for you guys! Mr. Louie G., looking forward visiting you on your upcoming church in Atlanta. :) For Chris, God really annointed you, continue writing beautiful songs, God bless you!

    God bless us all!!

  348. katrina silvestre Says:

My boyfriend’s wallet has been stolen earlier that day. He was also struggling with his problem with his father who’s an unbeliever. He was very depressed. I too was feeling downcast because I was thinking of leaving my ministry of being a Christian writer for the blind people in the country because life is getting harder here in the Philippines, my family really use an extra income. But that Friday night became a revival! It was our first time to be in this kind of gathering together. We were holding hands during the worship and we were crying. It was amazing. The song God of the City really touched my heart and gave me new hope. There are still greater things that God will do for this nation. And there are still greater things that God will do in our lives! We need not be distracted with all the negative things happening around us. God will take care of those. This night helped us refocus on what matters most: MAKING JESUS FAMOUS.

  349. katrina silvestre Says:

i hope to have a copy of Ashley Akinns’ journal so i could share it with the blind Filipino people. it was so inspiring.

  350. Christin A. Says:

It was an amazing and indescribable night of prayer, preaching and music. Thank you Passion Team. God bless. May He be glorified always.

  351. Jethro Says:

No doubt, God loves the Filipino people. Man, it was just all beautiful. Indeed it was God’s work. I still feel it. I only cut my band yesterday (Monday). I know God moved mightily as well in KL. Just thinking of it gives me the goosebumps.

Lord, please, just keep stirring up in our hearts, A PASSION FOR YOUR NAME!!!

Jesus loves the Philippines and the Philippines loves Jesus!

  352. Joseph Romana Says:

I praise and thank the Lord for sending LGig, CTom and the rest of Passion over to Manila and for the bros and sis’ in London who supported us with prayers and contributions. I left the Philsports Arena transformed… a FLAMING FRUITCAKE. Definitely a once-in-a-lifetime experience.

Dearest Pastor Louie and the rest of the Passion team,

I was so blessed that night. Thank God for that event. Our country cannot wait till the next Passion Tour and it better be in the biggest arena in our country…the Araneta Coliseum which can host about 23,000 people. That’s where the real “Thrilla in Manila” happened. But with Passion, we are going to make the biggest, best “Thrilla” yet. I am sure we can fill that place Pastor. I am sure.

Praise God for the music, the message, and the power of the Lord’s truth that was blessed upon each and every person that night.

He who kneels before the Lord can stand before anyone. And so, with each day, more and more are counted in.

    Amen to that!

That night is a night a to remember, it was a big night for the children of God especially to those people who have not yet known our God! Thank God for bringing you guys here in the Philippines, and for sharing the burden to us, Filipinos, of making our God know all over the world. All we wanna do is to really praise him, magnify His beautiful name and share His amazing love and saving grace to those who have not heard and known. It is so amazing to hear that manilla went so incredibly well. Praying for 5 weeks for the event was a real challenge but it is such an answer to prayer to see that it went so well. Although I’m still only at college I came to the London event as my youth leader was so exited that you were coming and really thought it would be a good experince. As it turned out it was groundbreaking as although considering myself a christian I was starting to find out what it actually meant for Jesus to die for me. Since then I have been growing in my faith and will be baptized soon. You guys are such a blessing and the work you are doing is amazing. Praise god!

  369. Christelle Grace Says:

Surely, this comments page has been stormed. ^^

I was truly blessed when I went to ULTRA that night… Actually, I wasn’t allowed by my parents to go since I was weak (just came from sickness, and I actually had a repeat x-ray that morning since my first test came out with suspicious results), but my dad felt bad about disappointing me… which is rather surprising, because most of the time he doesn’t even let me out of the house since I’m just 15. I know God purposed for me to be in that place that night. ^^

When the last song for ‘God of this city’ was sung, I just stood with my eyes closed while singing softly. Then, I had an urge so strong to open my eyes suddenly. When I did, I cried. On the screen was a picture of my school – UST.

I don’t want to tell things about UST, but all I could say is that it’s ‘lost’. That night, God reaffirmed me that he’s going to do something big in UST, and I’m so excited right now! Just today, something happened in our Economics class that showed me that God is really moving. ^^

I went to the doctor today, and found out that nothing is wrong with me at all. The suspicious-looking thingies they found at my lungs in the first x-ray are gone! I’m now healing. ^^

I pray that there would be more fruitcakes here in the Philippines, and that I’ll continue being a fruitcake to others. I hope Passion would go back to Manila, so I would be able to bring many Ashleys with me to the conference! :)

It’s such a big honor to be part of this movement! Thank you for coming here in Manila; you have been a blessing for all of us. To God be all the glory! ^^

How the people worship God,,I am truly and greatly AMAZED by GOD’s grace and power…

To the Passion, continue to spread the ministry and change lives…

GOD is so wonderful, so awesome, so great, so powerful and so many words to say…

Our GOD is mighty to save..

    JESUS MESSIAH our Living Saviour!!!

GOD is truly amazing and I’m truly amazed by HIS Grace up to this time…and until the end….

I will never forget that night when I sing with all I am for HIS glory..

hello, pastor louie, can i pls know the song that ashley wrote on her journal? and would you be kind enough to give me a copy of that part of the journal you read? God is so amazing in her life and in the life of “fruitcake”. yes, you can never judge a person, because we do not really know what is going on inside of them. i am encouraged by fruitcake’s life and has burdened me more to just show the love of Jesus to anyone regardless of his/her reputation, and make Jesus famous in my life.

can i have a reply soon? thank you. i know u r so busy, i would greatly appreciate it.

there was so much emotion during that night i didn’t catch every detail of her journal… thanks again. May God bless you and the PASSION team in every way!

hi.. im so glad to be part of passion manila… at first we we’re dissappointed because we no longer have the tickets for the concert, i was like what’s this? we are paid already?! but you know what God has a greater plan for the two us. we got the chance to be passion volunteers… nice huh?!! we got free pass, free tshirt and free food(uhmm)… but that’s not it… the real good thing about being a volunteer is that you got to see how the youth our our country praise na dshout the name of JESUS! that was amazing! we got to realize that the youths right now is really into knowing God and doing what is right… but attending passion manila despite the heavy rain and stuff around, we made it! Filipino youths did made it. i know that night God has a BIG BIG smile upon us. i thought that we could never enjoy the concert because we are volunteers but God did not allow us not to experience His goodness. even though we are busy looking after the gates and the people around. we did enjoy! and we learned a lot.! specially about our purpose. we should be fruitcakes in our own version to the ashley’s of our life.

GOD IS AN AWESOME GOD!!!! MIGHTY IN POWER AND NEVER FAILLING!
GOD BLESS US ALL MANILA!!! Ü

  373. Rose (Jer. 29:11) Says:

Dear Louie and Team (Chis, et.al…),

    I thank God for you!

You have such a wonderful team. I am so blessed and awed by how God has shown His mighty work in you! Your zest and love for Jesus is very contagious. The night at the PSC last Friday (August 1) truly made so much difference in my life. I thought I was already passionate enough for God’s Word, but, I must admit I’ve never been as passionate and crazy as that night! And I’ve never been crazier before. It was just amazing! I went home with a hoarse voice, feeling like I had a concert myself. (Hats off to Chris and Kristian.) But, it was something I was proud of. Come to think of it, I never sang in a hall as big as that before. My friends say I have a good voice and should try singing for people, besides the shower. I guess my chance came that night. (Glad no one on the stage made a comment on that single off-key voice that soared with such confidence.) Indeed, seeing all those people waving their hands and singing to their hearts’ content for Jesus was truly life-changing. There is no doubting God’s presence in that place that night.

Thank you, again, for listening to God’s prompting to include Manila in your tour. I hope you would return in the near future (and maybe not just Manila, but other cities in the country as well). I must tell you my sister (who unfortunately wasn’t able to join that night) has already started praying for your return. I’m sure there are many, many others like her. Can you feel the prodding now?

Don’t worry, the Filipino people will not take over anymore, or would you rather we would?

May you and everyone in your team never tire of knowing Christ and making Him known.

“Let us come before him with thanksgiving
and extol him with music and song.
For the LORD is the great God,
the great King above all gods.” (Psalm 95:2-3)

    Yours in Christ,

    Hi Passion Team,

I was really, really blessed during your visit here in our small but crowded country phillipines..Your great music makes my heart beat so fast and makes my eyes dropped plenty of tears because God touches my heart through your music, but the very touching and humbling word that I heard during that night was when Chris said this”This is not about good music, but it’s about lifting up the name of Jesus”Amen to that Guys..what a humble heart Chris and all of you guys…I love the story of ashley also.It was so sad that she died early but the good thing was she meet the Lord before God took her.Her story am sure touches many of the filipino’s who attended the concert..
God bless you guys and may God keep you in His care Always..

The Passion concert in ULTRA was awesome…I am so blessed to encounter and feel God’s presence in that place. Guys, kindly pray for my family as we encounter a big family problem….Hope that my daddy’s heart will be touched by God for him to show again love and compassion to my mother..I was really disappointed to my dad’s attitude because he is speaking God’s word inside our church. He is a role model to other but not to his own family…Kindly pray for us..

PRAISE GOD for what he did that night! It was just completely CRAZY and AMAZING to see all those Christians singing and praising The One True God. I praise God for you, Louie, Chris and the Passion team. Thanks for bringing such a revival to the people here.

The Oblation Satue in The University of the Philippines(the one you showed in the picture slideshow of manila. the one of the naked dude looking up with his arms stretched out to either side) has always been, to me, not only a symbol of Academic freedom and giving-up-for-country, but as a reminder of the SPIRITUAL freedom we have been given and giving-up-of-everything-for-GOD-AND-HIS-GLORY. Its great that you showed it, not just because i’m a student at the university mentioned but because it reminded me of why I’m here in the first place. Thank you guys so much. It’s been almost a week since that night but I’m still on fire!

MAy this PASSION never die down. For His Glory and Renown.

This night is unforgettable. I had been looking forward to that night. I knew that God was going to move into the hearts of those who attended the event. And I just can’t enough of that night. The music and the lights are cool but much more cooler that those is the truth that bears God’s renown as the all-sufficient, all-gracious, almighty, all-beautiful, all-astounding God of the universe.

On that people sang, everyone prayed, contrite hearts were weeping, and as we listen to God’s message and an amazing testimony of Ashley’s life, God was reviving my soul. I had been battling with depression and frustration but all of those seem to fade as I felt His presence. Passion Manila was awesome. Awesome because God was there.

    Huhuhu…pinaiyak ako ni CHRIS TOMLIN!!!

I JUST WANT TO SHARE what I experienced……
    Last Friday, August 1, 2008
    Pumunta ako sa PASSION 2008..
It is a concert of a Christian group in America that travels around the world…
    Since I think 12 years ago… hehehe…
    Andami na nilang napuntahan….
From America to Europe to Africa to Asia…..
    Now in MANILA!!!!
Their lead vocalist is my favorite singer today…
    None other than CHRIS TOMLIN…
Hehehe…. Grabe mag worship mga Filipino People…
The 2 big churches here that made up the audiences that time are the CCF’s
And of course ours, the VICTORY CHRISTIAN FELLOWSHIP..(VCF)
Grabe talaga.. ang saya sa ULTRA….
Grabe talaga mga Pilipino… yung iba umaga pa lang nandun na…
Yung iba the day before the concert pa daw…
Take note, 6:30pm nag open yung gate..
Nung pumila ako that time…. Around 5pm,
Umabot na siguro ng 1 kilometer yung pila from the main entrance of ULTRA
Yung nasa unahan ko mga CCF and ung nasa likod ko is a group of I think 20 students from PUP MANILA, mag isa lang ako…Huhuhuhu…
    Grabe, ang lakas ng ulan….
Sa wakas, binuksan na yung gate, there was a girl beside me, d ko sya kilala, pero inapproach nya ko nung narinig nya na I’m from VCF, she was ate Jesh, from VCF-Pioneer…. Nagkasundo kami because like talaga namin ang CHRISTIAN LIFE, CHRISTIAN MUSIC and everything about being a CHRISTIAN…
Na-share nya sakin yung newest songs ng Hillsong… ung isa dun is yung “Your love”.
Napakabait nya…hm back to the main event.. ang saya kasi kinanta nila lahat ng songs nila… grabe tlaga c CHRIS….
INDESCRIBABLE……huhuhu.. you have to hear that song.. PARA SA LAHAT YUN… kahit anung Religion mu pah!!!!!!
    Ganda talaga ng lyrics….
    Umiyak ako huhuhuhu…..
Super sigaw ako habang sinasabayan yung song…

Lalo na yung lyrics sa second part,
“Who has told every lightning bolt where it should go?”
Huhuhu…pagbagsak ng drums,….grabe p effects nun… yung tipong binuksan lahat ng lights sa arena tapos wla ako makita….kinanta rin nya yung “Amazing Grace” at nung patapos na yung concert sabi ng mga Pinoy “WE WANT MORE, WE WANT MORE!!!” eh parang ayaw na ni Chris, nagulat sila sa kasiglahan ng mga Pinoy, sa kagustuhan naming kumanta pa, kami na kumanta ng “HOW GREAT IS OUR GOD!!!”
-How great is our God, sing with me, how great is our God….
Sa sobrang mangha at gulat ni Chris, hinubad nya at nilapag yung gitara nya!!! Hehehe… grabe…… napilit din naming kumanta pa sya!!!…TAKE NOTE… tatlong gitara ang ginamit nya, isang base guitar, acoustic guitar at isang electric guitar….IDOL tlaga!!!
Yung Pastor nga nila may kausap abroad, ang sabi nya “the Filipinos are taking over the concert, we can’t control them”…then everyone laughed….wahaha…. kulit talaga ng mga Pinoy…. Sabi ni Pastor….. Tayo daw as of now ng nasa top or 1st place sa pinakakahanga-hangang mag-worship….TAKE NOTE:…first time pumunta ng PASSION sa Pilipinas….yet alam ng mga Pinoy lahat ng kanta nila… yun ang pinaka nagpamangha sa mga performers….ang lakas ng impact ng mga songs nila sa aming mga Christian……try to hear some of them para malaman nyo dn…nakakatuwa dahil part ang Philippines ng CHAIN PRAYER…kung saan pinagdadasal ng mga umattend ng concert ang susunod na pupuntahan ng PASSION…pinagpray tayo ng mga tga LONDON…..at pinagpray naman namin ang next destination nila, ang KUALA LUMPUR, MALAYSIA…pinakanagpagulat sa akin ay ang FACT na kya pla NAPAKA CHEAP ng ticket prize is that nag-donate ang mga taga LONDON ng money para sa atin….huhu nakakatouch talaga!!!…..11:30PM ng umalis na ako…umabot na nang 12mn ang concert…hindi ko talaga makaklimutan ang time na yun…..

  390. apoL Says:

the great thing about the “passion experience” is that we, who were able to attend, passed the same excitement and passion on to our friends who were not able to go and, as louie said, “They get it!” they too get the idea that we Christians should live our lives to make Jesus famous.

right now, our bible study group is actively praying for what the Lord wants for us to do. we say that we are ready- though a little scared- we will be where He wants to take us.

God bless you Passion Team for being instruments to bring about this eagerness in us.

  391. eric Says:

  405. JC Yu Says:

All I can say is WOW! WOW! WOW!
Every word that was said that night may it be through song or through the message it pierced me right in the heart!!!
Even now i still have goosebumps everythime I remeber that night.

It was two days after my birthday and it was for me the best gift I have recieved, EVER!!!!

The way God spoke to me was AMAZING! I am now going CRAZY for God.

You see last january-february I was joining our church-wide fast. I had a list of the things I wanted to pray for. But God on the first day of the fast impressed upon my heart a prayer in which i thought to myself I would not consider in a million year. He was calling me to be a CAMPUS MISSIONARY.

In my heart i was saying NO WAY, NO WAY LORD, NO WAY. Still He was persistent. I was in my last year of college then about to graduate in lessthan 2 months and companies were already starting to contact me and offer me employment.

I wrestled with God, trying to imposse on Him what I want. Still I made a deal with Him I said if He showed me a sign at the end of the fast I will obey. A rainbow, more beautiful than anything i have ever seen before. I want a real rainbow. That veryday God showed me a rainbow, but our deal was not until the end of the fast, I was even saying LORD NO APPETIZERS. But the whole week He kept showing me rainbows in different forms and brought me to a verse in 1 corinthians “saying the jews were foolish asking God for a sign and the gentiles…..”

The last day of the fast came even before I saw the rainbow I said yes to God. Still I was asking for it as a bonus, it was sunday then, the day was about to end still no rainbow. at 11:55pm just about the time when i tought no rainbow is ever going to appear i looked up in the sky and saw the moon engulp by the most colorful and bright rainbow i have ever seen. And so i commited to God and said yes. But the story doesnt end there.

I graduated and recieved awards. More comapnies were calling me up. The best in the industry. My dreams were within reach. Offers that an ordinary person whould accept in a heart beat. I beacame foolish and stubborn as i entertainedn all the companies going through their process of employment.
this lasted for months but God continue to reveal to me what His will for me is. thee even came a time where I stopped doing my quiet time and prayer because I know what He is going to tell me. All this time there was no peace in me.

Everythime i would go back to God and say YEs, another dream company would call and again I would entertain them. this lasted for 4 months april-july. I was in a roller coaster of employment.

My heart was in the corporate word, rather my dreams and ambitions where there. I was questioning God If it was possible to have a calling but not the desire. then He would bring me to verses saying “change my heart, O GOD” It was as if God was telling me YES with loud speaders besides my ear. But refused to listen I wanted what I want.

Then at the end of july I finally said okay I will follow GOD i lay down my life and my dream to HIM. I said He saved me and Im sure He has better plans. As one of my friends said A job is better when God is the one who offered it. The privilledges of those companies where great one that my classmates could only dream of. But as You said Be CRAZY!!! This is a crazy thing to do but I will be CRAZY! Because i know that the plans God have for me is much much better.

In Passion!!! God again confirmed His calling. You said to not be an ordinary filipino who after Graduation gets a job and get employed that pierced my heart and made me cry. I the last part of the song God is the God of this city, greater things have yet to come. You showed the picture of the school which I graduated from and where God is calling me to be a campus missionary! GOD is amazing and I am not ashamed to be crazy for HIM

You will be gald to know that my papers are now being processed not by the companies but by my local church. Please pray for me.

    JC YU

PS – I wanted to buy the passion shirt but it got sold out! praise God for that. Is there anyway I could buy and get a hold of the shirt again. Hope to Get Connected.

  407. jahz Says:

AMAZING!!! God really answers prayers. when i saw the HOW GREAT IS OUR GOD dvd, i prayed that God would give me a chance to meet the preacher who just changed the way i think about God (all glory to GOD) it was supernatural, i cant forget the part when louie said rephrased) that people keep on looking for the greatest sights of the world but they see past themselves.
on the night of the PASSION MANILA concert/tour., i was reminded of GOD’s wonderful amazing Love, i cant sleep. i kept on thinking about Ashley and how i can relate to her, God still loves me even though im the worst sinner in this planet… and i thank God for that life-changing event….now im not just praying to see them again, im praying that God would make a way so i can go to Atlanta Georgia!!!

God bless you!!! He is glorified!

  412. Dorinda Says:

    Hey, Passion Team,
You rock! My husband and I were in Manila to visit missionary friends of ours and the dates just so happened to coincide with the Passion World Tour. We had the most amazing worship time of the almost 2 and a half years we have been married. We both lead worship for our little church in Southern CA, and we were inspired to get up and do more!
I know that the devil was displeased with the results of that concert, and spiritual warfare was all around us. He tried to distract us (my camera was stolen right out of my case) but we were able to refocus our Passion!
God bless all of you and the work you have commited to for the sake of our Lord Jesus Christ!

  413. alesa Says:

i almost didn’t make it to PASSION Manila, but till the last minute I know in my heart that the Lord willed for me to be there. That one extra ticket, only one, that was given to me at 7.30PM that night, has my name on it….and God wrote it Himself.

Words are not enough for that wonderful experience I (we, Filipinos) had that night at the PhilSports Arena.

And, wow, it was one year ago, August of 2007 when I first got to watch the Indescribable video. And 2 years ago when the Lord impressed on my heart the desire to pray for the youth of Malaysia (city next to us is KL). It really is destiny.

    ALL GLORY TO YOU GOD!
(We love you Pastor Louie, Chris and the whole Passion team)

  414. rio Says:

I wish Passion would come up with the complete Passion Manila tour on video. It would be nice to relive and relive and relive and relive that night. Truly, God is amazing! It is not everday that you get to worship with thousands of fellow Filipinos that way. Who knows, maybe Praise Inc. and the local organizers that brought them here could bring Passion Manila 2008 to our home screens.

I don’t want to get down from this high of praising and worshipping God!

May God continue to bless Passion. Your passion for God’s renown is infectious. To God be the glory!

  415. jahziel Says:

…can’t get over with it yet.. haha. Praise God!!

  416. kaythie Says:

Hi Passion Team! How’re you guys?

It’s just now that i get to here the concert you had here in Manila. It’s so nice to hear many people are listening to your podcast.

I’m really glad that my sisters were able to get an extra 2 tickets for me and my older sister. We never thought that we’ll be able to join the crowd too.

The day before the concert, a church mate texted me and my sister if we would like to go to the Passion concert coz they have extra tickets. But at the end of the day, he texted again that the tickets were already sold out. So when i got home from work, I told my sisters that it could’ve been nice to go to the concert but we don’t have the ticket. Me and my older sister didn’t have a clue that our 3 younger sisters will be going and that they already have the tickets. And one of them said that someone from their group could still get an extra 2 tickets for us. Thank God for it.

And so the day of the concert came, it’s been really rainy that day. Some friends of my 3 siblings came to fetch us at our house. Going to the location was not that great – heavy traffic and we’re not that familiar on how to go there – in the end we came late. Hurrying up walking to the entrance, i even said to my sister, “Be careful, it’s slippery!” since the road going up was so slippery and we can’t see well. Then wooosh! I slipped! I got a bruise at my right foot and a big bump at my knee. I said, hey what a night! We thought that the entrance were already going to be closed already. And when we got there, the crowd were already singing.

At first, I cannot concentrate well due to the situation I’ve had earlier – my pants were all wet, my right knee hurts, and my toes were bleeding a bit. But hey, I was just warming up. I really had a great time singing praise and worship to our God. It’s so nice to see many people are there to worship Him with all their hearts.

Thanks for the story of Ashley. I’ll be trying to tell the stories to my other colleagues. And that may they be touched by her story also just as it has touched ours.

I pray that may you guys be a blessing to other non-believers and may you touch their lives as you share God’s love and grace all through out the world. God is really great! May He touch more hearts through your ministry.

We hope to see you back here in the Philippines!

That’s it for me now. Really glad to have experienced such a great time. And really glad that many other people are worshiping our Lord Almighty.

Take care always and God bless.

Let His glory be upon us! And let’s continue to experience His mightiness and always sing how really great our God is!

By the way, seems like you guys really had a big crowd also in Malaysia, Indonesia, and in Johannesburg.

    Smile!^^,

  417. jerry Says:

wow…..i cn still remember up to this date what happened that night when the venue was filled with young people including me who were passionate for JESUS CHRIST….that was indeed another great and intimate experience with JESUS CHRIST together with the music you brought here…….
just as what is in the lyrics of chris tomlin’s song…there is more that God has in store not just for Manila but for the whole nations that He has made……
thank you for sharing us the story about “fruitcake” that was indeed an inspiring story……
thanke you so much. we filipinos will wait for you for the next time you stop over Manila…i pray for your safety wherever you are right now and i pray that may God shower you guys more grace and strengthen you as you reach out to the world…

    hi, this is Yuree,
Im a Korean living in Manila,
I just found this site a while ago,,;; and have read words,
I want to write just few words as a foreigner who has been in manila for more than 4 yrs, serving filipino local church,,,

I was so surprised on that day,,, with new generation arising!!
I have never thought Filipino would cry out that loud unto God,
It was my first time to see that,, I havent seen this in other worship nights…

My church choir, the sound of God attended the passion worship and we love passion team so much,
we have started sharing the love of God through the song God of this city and of course my church members love it!^_____^

the philippines has so beautiful sky,
I feel this more these days,,,
I always take pictures of sky and cloud,,
Do not complain about your nationaliry, situation, just thank God
    coz God is really fair,

I cant stop loving this country and these people,,,
Love you passion team and filipinos^____^

remember “you were born to be loved by our God”
