Quick Stop Seoul, New Chapter In Passion’s Future
As just a little tease for what’s to come in October, the Passion World Tour has touched down in Seoul for a few hours before heading on to Manila and night one on a second leg run that also includes stops in Kuala Lumpur, Jakarta, Johannesburg and Cape Town. A long Korean Air flight will take us to the Philippines where over 7000 low-cost tickets have been sold for Passion Manila this Friday night. As well, KL is SOLD OUT with close to 4000 and Jakarta is OVERSOLD! Response has made it necessary to secure a larger venue in Jakarta that will allow more Indonesian students to be a part of this night! Spread the word that Passion Jakarta is still open and pray like crazy as we lift up Jesus in the heart of the most populous Muslim nation on earth.
But before we get rolling on Leg 2, I wanted to say a few words about what most of you have already heard about, a new chapter in Passion’s future. If you don’t already know (and we wish we could have been the first to talk about it, but circumstances beyond our control caused info to spread a little sooner than we would have liked), Passion is taking a pretty big turn as we continue to say “yes” to Him. At the heart of the shift is an unmistakable calling Shelley and I have sensed in our lives over the past eighteen months…a calling to not only serve The Church around the world, but to give our lives to building up a church where we live. So, in coming months, by the grace of God, we will be planting a local expression of the Kingdom of God in our rapidly growing and diverse city that we hope will serve as a base for our influence throughout the world.
We’ll say much more as details become available toward the end of the year, but we wanted you to know what’s going on within our hearts. Obviously, this has not been a quick decision, but one we have walked through with our Board over the past year and one in which we have sought and received the blessing of our pastor. Our intention is to continue to lead Passion Conferences, love university students, guide sixstepsrecords and have a global reach. It’s just that we’ll have a local community with the same DNA as the Passion Movement…a place we pray will touch Atlanta and the world.
Chris Tomlin is joining Shelley and me as we launch this new venture, and his band, the Redmans and the Nockels are going to be with us, as well. We are all blown away by what God is stirring in our hearts and ask for your prayers as we seek to follow Him. Many of you have sent encouragement our way, for which we are so grateful. For now, we ask that you not send resumes or requests for more details. All that is premature at this point as the Passion World Tour is squarely in our view and what we’d like the topic of conversation to be about.
In a few hours we will touch down in Manila and we need your prayers and support. Thanks for helping make the journey possible and for taking each step with us.
To make Jesus famous,
Louie and Shelley and the Passion Team

Praying!!
July 30th, 2008 at 6:19 AM
I’m praying for this new chapter in your lives and I pray that God will guide all of youi this step you are making together as a family!
“I will instruct you and teach you
in the way you should go.
I will guide you with my eye.”
Psalm 32:8 NKJV
I continue to pray for the Passion World Tour. Amazing to hear that the venues are sold out Students there are so thirsty for God! AMAZING! It’s also so amazing that you guys are doing this. Not only that but seeing that God makes it all happen is just….awesome.
I’ve been travelling a lot this past year and have met many wonderful people…people I’ve met through Passion! It’s incredible to see how big the family of God is. And whereever I go I know there are brothers/sisters waiting for me! Very cool! I’m very thankful for that!!
Take care!

Hi Guys,
Hard to believe this next leg of the PWT is already here – wow! Fervently praying with you all.
I thought about you this morning regarding the new church plant in Hotlanta. Right in the middle of Paul’s teaching about marriage in 1 Corinthians 7, he makes the following statement in verse 17:
“Only let each person lead the life that the Lord has assigned to him, and to which God has called him. This is my rule in all the churches.” (ESV)
Thank you for so faithfully following “calling” that our Father has “assigned” to you through the years. In this new season of Passion, may you know the favor of His astounding grace and mercy. We can’t wait to see the work of His hands in and through this next preparation of His Bride.
Hey, have a great tour. Praying especially with you for Jakarta that Isa will receive resounding praise!!
Blessings.

Louie thank you SO MUCH for taking the time to post this update! I got on every thirty minutes yesterday (literally) waiting to hear what was going on, and you all have been in the forefront of my thoughts and prayers. To hear the response in Manila, KP, and Jakarta is just mind-blowing (GOD is awesome!!!) and further confirmation that He is in this and it is for His glory, because humans could never make that happen. But may you, and all the volunteers, and all the team leaders, and all the students, who have allowed yourselves to be completely used as vessels for His Spirit, be blessed, protected, strentghened, and prepared for the mighty things which our God is going to be doing in your midst! We’re with you, even thousands of miles away!
Much love,
Christis Joy

“…and they sang a new song with these words: ‘You are worthy to take the scroll and break its seals and open it. For you were slaughtered, and your blood has ransomed people for God from every tribe and language and people and nation. And you have caused them to become a Kingdom of priests for our God. Any they will reign on the earth.’ “
This is what is to come, and it’s been beautiful to glimpse a tiny picture of it through the World Tour. Praying and thinking about you guys. Keep choosing bravery over safety.

Louie,
I was visiting a friend in GA this past weekend and got to hear you share some of Ashley’s story again at North Point. It’s so amazing what God continues to do through her life and testimony. You shared from II Cor. 5:13-21, too, which was especially cool for me since I claimed vs. 17-21 of that chapter years ago as my life passage! Love it. I’ve recently been astounded in a fresh way by CT’s song “Jesus Messiah” that “He made Him who knew no sin to be sin for us, so that in Him we might become the righteousness of God.” Thanks for helping to drive that home through your message.
Praying for you all in Ft. Myers, FL

Louie,
We'll be praying for you and the team on the next step of your journey on the World Tour.
I just finished listening to your message from this Sunday at North Point titled "Home Free – Even Me: Fruitcake & Ice Cream" and am just blown away by the story of Ashley, her mom, dad and step brother. Let's just say the tears will not stop streaming down my face. This young lady's life is going to change and I'm sure already has changed people's lives around the globe.
I am so excited about the plans that God has in store for you, Shelley, Chris, Matt, Beth, Nathan, Christy, and Chris' band. You are your team are an inspiration just like He who walked this earth 2,000 years ago changed this earth forever.

I am so excited that you are on this side of the world! I wish I would have known sooner to go out and join you all in Indonesia, but the timing of finding out now is great in that I can be praying for the people you will welcome into God’s presence. I thank God that we can enter His powerful and loving presence so confidently through faith in Jesus Christ. May you be blessed as you worship Him in all places. Hey Louie,
I've been thinking and praying for Seoul a lot (coming from the Dallas stop) and I also took a class on Asian Government & Politics in the spring semester that focused a lot on the Koreas (both North and South)…I think I remember in some blog something about y'all needing favor with a certain pastor in Seoul, or something. I think he had said no or did not say yes. Is that right? To get to the point, what I learned in my AGP class is that Confucian culture permeates even Christianity in that it is custom to ask the elder/boss/person of authority three times for a request (even if they say no the first two times). It's a respect, honoring, and devotion kind of thing. They want to see your "passion" and commitment. They may seem stern in saying no but on the third request they might be like, "Ok." The Lord always brings to mind the persistent widow in Luke 18 when I think about this situation (even though the widow is asking for justice against an ENEMY). Anyway, I just want to encourage you/y'all to not give up hope. KEEP PRAYING AND ASKING! I'm praying too! And I'll see y'all in Seoul(study abroad)!

To Louie and the Passion family,
Whoa! Last night was really anointed!!!
)
I hope and pray that you’ll come back here in the Philippines, and I am very much looking forward to it, with my classmates and friends (unbelievers) in my mind. I want them to feel the same way I felt last night.
I was sooooooo blessed, and I can’t get over it until now. (and i won’t…besides, who would want to get over such anointing?
I’ll be praying for the Passion World Tour that many students be saved/blessed and for the whole world to know how great is our God!
Thank you for being a channel of blessing.

All I can say is WOW!!! Kuala sold out and Jakarta oversold!?!? I just finished listening to the podcast for Manilla and it is indeed the rippling effect of God’s kingdom being built all over the world. As I listened to the thousands of students singing their hearts out to God, I just teared up with joy…to know just how thirsty they are for God. I continue to pray for the students, as well as all of you with Passion, the many volunteers who are working hard alongside with you. It’s hard to sit here in the U.S. (being a volunteer from U.S. conferences) and not be there doing so but I know I can still keep all of you uplifted in prayer. Looking forward to hearing about Kuala.
So exciting to hear about the new church in Atlanta and even though this will be a transitional thing for everyone, I know you will be following God’s lead all of the way. You all have such a heart for students, for God and being obedient to Him, and just allowing Him to be the driver in every path you go down.
For such is God, Our God forever and ever,
He will guide us until death. Psalm 48:14

hi louie,
i’m a late-passion-bloomer! i only heard about passion when you went to speak for hillsong conference in 2007. i found myself crying in your ‘indescribable’ talk, in one of the night rallies. i felt like i got born-again one more time! since then, i promised to find a copy of that presentation for my churchmates to see and to show it to people who are yet to know Christ. last friday, in passion manila, a different presentation had touched our hearts… it was great hearing you share the life of ashley… we were so blessed with how the Lord touched her life through “Fruitcake”. we continue to pray for more of God in Passion as you reach-out to all the young people all around the world. God bless, Passion! All for His Glory! — in prayers, Louie

Wow, that is big news. And here I thought that Passion’s World Tour was going to expand even larger. I mean, when you hear there is some big news coming down the pike, I immediately thought Mars and Venus were the next stop. Imagine the Passion Worlds Tour. I’m totally kidding (I hope that’s obvious), but it’s exciting news to say the least. Hope all goes well and that God blesses what you all are doing around the world in in your little corner of Georgia.
