During the night they had a time for “21 minutes” of silence for the tewnty one years of the war.

I attended Displace Me in Washington, D.C. and it was awesome! Being outside the Washington Monument in the dark with a crowd of people while helicopters flew over us actually made me flashback to the last night Passion 07, though Displace Me couldn’t compare at all!

It was really cool to see thousands of people come together for a cause they believed in. I think its a great example of how we as humans do realize that there has to be more to life and want to join together to do something that is not of themselves.

The event was powerful.
The movement is growing.
God is alive.

A quick story...
This was not a "christian" event, meaning there was many who were not believers that still feel burdened for these children.

During the night they had a time for "21 minutes" of silence for the tewnty one years of the war.

We were challenged to pray furing this time, or to reflect on those suffering from AIDS and the orphans.

I sat for 10 minutes in silence, praying.

Then laid down.

And as i neared the ground, i heard it.

The sounds of whispered prayers.

Thousands uniting, all over the United States, for God to hear the cries of his people, FOR his people.

It was beautiful.

And while my heart aches for those in suffering, it beats strong knowing the joy and pleasure God must have in hearing and watching his people act and pray in FAITH.

I wish I could be a part of being “displaced” for just one evening. Although I really think this experience will only give a very tiny taste of what those Ugandan children go through, it will be a great experience for all those who can attend one of the venues. I have many friends going to the Chicago event. For all those going.. be humbled and be open to what God has to say to you during this time.

Thanks, this is very touching to me. As I'm from Africa, Africa's children is very close to my heart.
Everyday I see life through their eyes and believe me, it is not a pretty picture. But still they run each morning up to me with arms wide open and little eyes sparkling with love.
There is so much about gratefulness, humbleness, contentment and perseverance I learn from them.

Organisations like these makes me very excited! As I have expressed on my blog (www.karidutoit.blogspot.com), I really feel that it is our priority as Christ's Body to reach out to this broken world.
