28 Day Prayer Journey To Passion 07 – Day 21

Day 21. The Day Before Jesus.

Waiting.
Clinging to distant hope.
Looking heavenward.
Are the promises true?
Religion’s not enough.
So weary of all the sacrifice.
Time after time.
Year after year.

We’ve heard of a coming Savior.
Can it be?
A God-sent one.
For us.
Here?

Darkness growing.
Joy fading.
Wandering.
Aimless.
Time wasting.
Purposeless.
Questions.
Hunger.
Forgetting.
Stumbling.
Lost.

Heavy weight.
So tired.
Little chance.
Is there something more?
Will He ever come?
What are we supposed to do?

400 years without a word.
Nothing.
Zip.
No prophet.
No message.
Not one syllable.
Silence.
Are we finished?
Forgotten?
Doomed?

Shepherd less.
Doing our best.
Life goes on.
Bustling.
Busy.
Trying.
Taxing.
So crowded tonight.
No vacancy.

Oh, you’re expecting?
So sorry.
We’re slammed.
No room for you.
A cave will have to do.

    wow

God…thank you for not forgetting us. Thank you for sending your Son to save us from ourselves and sin. I love you…

  2. Stephen Says:

So sad, but I must tell you, I cheated and read the end of the book already. So I say:

My soul doth magnify the Lord: and my spirit hath rejoiced in God my Saviour./
For he hath regarded: the lowliness of his hand-madien./
For behold, from hence forth: all generations shall call me blessed./
For he that is mighty has magnified me: and his holy Name./
And his mercy is on them that fear him: throughout all generations./
He hath shewed strength with his arm: he hath scattered the proud in the imagination of their hearts./
He hath put down the mighty from their seat: and hath exhaulted the humble and meek./
He hath filled the hungry with good things: and the rich he hath sent empty away./
He remembering his mercy hath holpen his servant Israel: as he promised to our forefathers, Abraham and his seed, for ever.
    – the Magnificant, from Luke 1:46-55…

The cave will do for a minute.

  3. Stephen Says:

    PS–
the seed has to literally go in the ground first right? I mean that’s the way it works.

    Amazing.

God says that he will come back for us. And I believe him!

Jesus born in a cave…the first day spring, the first little fountain of Life, the first physical manifestation of God in flesh…a Spring bubbling forth from the living GOD that said this will happen in a cave, to bring Light to our darkness.

    Amazing.

  6. Lindsay Says:

    Amen to Stephen!

    Still reading, still praying…

  7. Silke Says:

Unbelievable… why would He have come, humbly, lowly, as a poor baby boy? Why does He love me, a sinner, now?

How much greater than mine is His love for us…

  8. Karin du Toit Says:

“He had no servants – yet they
    called Him
    MASTER,

No degrees – yet they called Him
    TEACHER,

No medicine – yet they called Him
    HEALER,

No army – yet kings FEARED Him,

He won no military battles – yet
    He CONQUERED the world,

He committed no crime – yet they CRUCIFIED Him….

He was buried in a tomb – yet He LIVES TODAY!!

DO YOU NOT FEEL HONORED TO SERVE SUCH A MAN?”

    Christmas Blessings from
    South Africa!
