A large group from my church and a couple of others were serving the conference in ushering, guiding people around, helping the crew and stuff. At the end of the opening worship event held outdoors, a huge storm came in and washed out the outdoor worship venue (a formerly dry creekbed) and the tent city. Our group 'just happened' to be the only group completely flooded, while the only two of our tents without the ushers in them were spared. The caravan (this is how bad it was!) with the other two ushers got severly damaged and flooded as well.<br/><br/>We also had God providing for us in amazing ways:<br/>* other groups offering us spare tents<br/>* other groups squeezing in to less space to free up extra tents<br/>* someone with a free Monday just happening to be at the church where there was a trailer loaded with tents<br/>* a very generous laundromat offering free use<br/>* a whole lot of uhf radios unexpectedly being free for us to coordinate cleanup efforts<br/><br/>I think this attack on the Passion House should provide you with a cause to have a good laugh at the evil one and his inept attempts at blunting your double-edged sword sweeping through the nations. The last couple weeks have been distressing in my tiny little world, but God's been faithfully whispering to me everytime i get in the car and Everything Glorious (which has barely left the player) sings through the speakers. 'Center' has been such a reality check as i've vainly tried to gravitate life around me instead of Him. 'How Marvelous' - truth that reduces me and heals my negative cynicism.
